If we missed fvrcp booster, I don't quite want to start over with first shot again but unsure what to do

Hi, all. Love this forum. OK so I know no one can give med. advice but am curious re what has happened to others who may have missed giving booster on time. I totally believe in vaccines but don't want to overvaccinate cats, who are indoor and have been since birth (in our house) and are perfectly f...

Re: All most four years on ,I am still grieving

Ok, Bertie, I've got an assignment for you. First, tomorrow, instead of playing a video game, call 1 person. The next day, go to the store and get your favorite food and make it. The next day, if you like tv at all, pick a show you might like and watch it. The next day, make yourself go for a walk. ...

Re: Hi; bouncing off a situation: kitten I raised supposed to be indoor yet hit by a car w/adoptive family

Thanks, Bertie and all others who have responded: Your heartfelt responses are so appreciated. Bertie, I would keep Basil inside except for catio/leash/harness. Better that than what I'm exp. A few mos. ago cat ran right in front of my car.I avoided it but barely. Cats are smart but obviously cats a...

Re: Can't bring myself to accept Tobias is gone

Wow, what a story. Tobias deserves a whole movie. Maybe you could write a book. It is wild how he curled up in your lap when all other kittens hid. You went to 6 diff vets in diff cities. I know many people whose families don't get that many opinions when they have a bad diagnosis. Or anywhere near ...

Re: Overwhelming grief

Thank you Issi for replying! Glad you fostered. I am so glad i found this forum! As it is a week since I learned of my kitten's death it is comforting. There is a black cloud. Especially as i still don't know exactly what happened and especially as everything has gone badly between adoptive family a...

Re: Four years on I am in limbo

Bertie, how are you feeling? Do you think that perhaps getting another cat to love would help? I know that you feel cheated w/7 years, but I do know wonderful cat mothers who only had their cat around 8 years. I know what you mean about cats sensing our moods. There are so many cats that need loving...

Re: Hi; bouncing off a situation: kitten I raised supposed to be indoor yet hit by a car w/adoptive family

Hi, Booktigger/Mollycat, and thanks Yes, that's true; I do realize I can't force them to do anything; the issue is how I can get them to keep 2nd cat safe through persuasion. Has anyone needed to persuade someone in this situation? Added to the upset is that I had never raised kittens -- had never h...

Re: Hi; bouncing off a situation: kitten I raised supposed to be indoor yet hit by a car w/adoptive family

Thanks, Mollycat and Booktigger. No contract -- never even thought of one. Plus, this is a really good home! They gave a 21=year old blind cat. Which is why I thought they knew how to keep cats safe.I never considered asking for 2nd cat back. Just want him kept safe. This cat death has to be hard on...

Tracey 1979, if you believe in heaven, maybe you will see him? there. He? certainly had a wonderful life with you. I know another few well-cared for animals who also died at the same age. It's just the way it goes sometime. Perhaps you can adopt another animal who reminds you of him?? and give anoth...

Re: Hi; bouncing off a situation: kitten I raised supposed to be indoor yet hit by a car w/adoptive family

Booktigger, I must say I think you have a very unusual reaction. When someone to whom you've given a cat tells you the cat will be indoors that gives one peace of mind that the cat is likely to be safer, much longer. (Please see any of the threads in this category re people who have unfortunate guil...

Hi; bouncing off a situation: kitten I raised supposed to be indoor yet hit by a car w/adoptive family

Hi; a situation keeps going through my mind so the kitten I raised that was hit by a car when w/his adoptive family and my terrible sadness at that is being compounded by their reaction: mad at me for not allowing them "space to grieve" when I am afraid for the 2nd of the 2 cats that I rai...
