Re: Moving house with cats - any advice/comments appreciated

Hi. I've copied and pasted this from a post I added in february on the old site. It might help a bit? Dora is an indoor only girl so a slightly different scenario. When Dora and I moved she really surprised me. I had prepared myself for several days of her hiding behind the sofa but she just took it...

Re: I can relate to these photos! :)

They're very funny. Dora's upstairs litter tray is right next to my toilet in the ensuite. Its a regular occurrence for us to have a conversation while sitting side by side having our morning wee!!! (sorry if that offends!!!) x

Re: Outdoor fun

So, here's the 3 sketches the chaps provided me with. He's basically looking at adding a climbing frame to 3 of the sides of the playroom.

Re: Outdoor fun

I just thought I'd update you on the progress (or rather lack of it) that's been made! So, to AstroTurf the entire play room I've been quoted £240 labour & construction costs, and then the covering at anything between £275 to £375. So in total around £600 plus VAT. It's lots to spend if she won'...

Usain Bolt!

Dora has turned into a mad sprinter this evening! It's lovely to see (although I do worry & tell he to calm down as she races past me at 100mph). I don't know what's got in to her but she's using her scratch posts and reaching higher than normal, she's throwing her toys around, chattering to me ...

Re: Outdoor fun

I think the tunnels a fab idea and had I known then what u know now I'd have probably done something similar. I love that I can walk out of the back door & Dora & I are in her playroom but it gets sunshine until about 3pm..... Then the suns the other side of the house.

Re: Please help....I'm so worried

Hi. I so sorry to hear he's not himself but I agree, I think the only way you will definitely know what's up with your little man is a trip to the vets. Could you call the out of hours vet for a chat? Bear in mind it could be absolutely nothing to worry about but no-one on here can confirm that for ...

Re: Outdoor fun

Just looked at the link you posted. Yes.... I've looked at this before and considered it. Again, maybe need to see what room I've got left after sourcing the main climbing frame?

Also anyone got any ideas re hanging outdoor toys?

Re: Outdoor fun

Thanks for the link. Definitely some ideas. I would be dubious about ladders without 'backing' due to Dora's arthritis which I possibly wouldn't have even considered as a 'choice' but your link has made me aware of this as it states on the website that one of the frames is made with this kind of iss...

Re: What to get for the girl who has everything

You are right Sarah. Father Kwissmas did indeed bring these for Dora last Kwissmas. Lou Lou is such a cutie isn't she. Bless her. Glad Edgar is there to protect her too! Where's Pepsi? Dora's nip beddies arrived at work today but I'm such a remiss mummy at the moment because my heads all over the pl...

Re: Outdoor fun

So, thanks for your thoughts. I'm looking into a frame with a walkway & various different levels etc, as well as artificial grass! Sarah, if you and Steve are coming that close for your holidays it would be criminal NOT to come and visit! Although Dora would be very shy, she'd be very excited to...

Re: What to get for the girl who has everything

Hi Sarah. The 'blankies' came off eBay from a company called towelsareus - all one word, and are £7.70 each. You can chose the colour of the towel, the colour of the embroidery and the size you would like, obviously as well as the name you would like. They are very good quality too and wash up reall...

Re: What to get for the girl who has everything

Hi Sarah. What about one of the plug in heated beds like I got Dora for her birthday in February. She loves it and got straight in it as soon as we unwrapped it which was very unusual. I've also significantly reduced her Metacam intake in the last 2 months which may or may not be partly as a result ...

Outdoor fun

Hi. As many of you know Dora is an indoor only girl. She has her play room (as we call it) which enables her to go outside but she will only go out there if mummy is out there too. I've never really known what to do with the play room. I know that sounds really silly but as it's just me and Dora at ...

Missed photo opportunity!

Dora is snoring happily beside me on the sofa. We have one of her plug in 'warmies' beds positioned beside my 'spot' on the sofa and 9 out of 10 evenings she curls up in there with her paw poking out and periodically touching me!! I glanced down at her earlier as she was snoring sooooo loudly which ...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!

Oh Carol. I don't really know what to say. Clearly it's HRH Fluffy & she is a strong, independent lady who just takes things in her stride. I would definitely be doing exactly what you are doing. 29th April is such a long time away. Is there no way the vet could get her in quicker? It's a long t...

Re: Quick question regarding toileting & Metacam

Hi everyone. Thanks for your replies. I must admit I wondered if it could be a fur related thing so much to Dora's indignation we have just had a 25 minute brushing session. She was actually being quite good about it and even semi laid down at one point - despite the constant tail swishing! However,...

Quick question regarding toileting & Metacam

I fear we Mummys may be in for trouble on Dashings.... But here goes! Just over 5 weeks ago I started reducing Dora's Metacam intake. I initially reduced the dosage to 2/3rds body weight. That seemed absolutely fine so I reduced to 1/3rd dosage just over 2 weeks ago. I'm very, very pleased to say th...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Carol you are very forgiving, understanding and far too considerate! I wonder if Fluff is simply having a slightly delayed reaction to her vet visit? After all its not a pleasant thing to go through (even without the enema) so perhaps the initial excitement of being home has disappeared and shes had...

Oh my goodness. Carol I feel so awful for having missed all of this. I am soooooo pleased Fluffys better after her trip to the vets today. Please give her a chin rub from me and a headbutt from Dora, and then an extra special ((hugs)) from me to you and a massive apology that I wasn't there for you x
