Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Sarah, I thought of your Pepsi when I started feeding Fluffy by hand last night. She seemed to take to it very quickly!! I know what you mean about the cystitis panic. I was the same with Fluffy last year. I remember I posted on here in a right state whilst waiting for the vets to open. You, along w...

Re: Peaches hurt

Awww poor baby girl!! It is good that she can relax and sleep like that. Judging by her position she is comfortable which is a relief. Glad she is interested in food. Sounds like she wants extra tlc at the moment. Who can blame her. I can see her poorly nose :( Please give her a very gentle kiss fro...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Thanks Julie and Barney, Ria and Helen. Have passed on your fusses to the little girl and she has purred with appreciation :) xxx Ria you're so right. I spent a very anxious night last night as I could see she wasn't happy but I didn't know what more I could do. She would only eat if I fed her by ha...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

We're back safe and sound. Poor Fluffy. She was given an enema and loads came out. At first she wouldn't "go" as she didn't like their litter tray so I was warned she may do it on the way home. Thankfully at the very last moment she did manage it. She was given some fluids too as she was a...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Thanks Sarah and Julie. Poor Pepsi and Barney. Five days is a long time isn't it. Fluffy seems a little brighter in herself this morning and is moving a bit better. She's just jumped onto her wicker chair which she wouldn't have been able to do yesterday. Still no poo though during the night. Her ap...

Re: Peaches hurt

Oh Helen!! I can't believe it. Not little Peaches. Poor baby girl. You must have been out of your mind with worry. She's had a very lucky escape hasn't she. What does Daz think of it all? His faithful little friend has been hurt. Feel really sorry for Peaches and for you. Sending big hug to you and ...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Thanks Emma. She is about 14yrs old. She has possible arthritis but I've never seen her wobble before. I'm hoping that her kidneys aren't causing this. Have just given her a kiss from you.

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Thanks Mark. I feel a little more reassured now that you mentioned about poor Laz having wobbly back legs when he's constipated. I was beginning to fear it was something else to do with her kidneys but it looks like it's all related then. She's also off her food too. Seems keen at first but then aft...

Re: Fluffy in discomfort

Thanks Emma. I've given her some sunflower oil from a tin of tuna. Even given her some more of her paste. She is sleeping at the moment on her bed so at last she has got comfy and settled a bit. She's definitely not right and her legs seem a bit wobbly too. She normally likes to go out to sit on the...

Fluffy in discomfort

I'm worried about my little girl. I think she is badly constipated. She's been very quiet the last couple of days and has been walking very gingerly. It is only today that I've realised she is constipated. She normally only goes every other day. She has passed a couple of very tiny stools earlier th...

Re: Re-introductions?

Here's my little girl Fluffy (a 14yr old tortie with cattitude) lying on her favourite tissue wrapping paper on top of her blanket. Helen, in Grumpy Nellie's defence, this pic of HRH proves that it is possible to find a pose that doesn't reveal any "don't you dare come near me" expression ...

Harry looks like a very lovely boy. I can fully understand how much he is missed. Just love Alfie's pose and Daphne's ever so innocent looking face. Max looks very comfy on that coffee table.

Helen you made me laugh with your comment about HRH. Just watch this space is all I can say :D

Re: New neighbours and possible problems

Oh dear. Four dogs! I would definitely look into cat proofing the fence rather than relying on Max not deciding to climb over. Four dogs are even more likely to act like a pack when they are excited. Perhaps it might be a good idea to start a separate thread on cat proofing. There have been several ...

Re: Cats on medication

Sarah your lovely Pepsi has made me smile. She's got you wrapped round her little paw hasn't she!! Fancy eating her food unaided during the night but expecting you to hand feed her during the day. They certainly do steal our hearts, that's for sure. Give her a little chin tickle from me xx

Love to see all these beautiful pictures. I'll try and post one of HRH soon.

Nice to see Lou Lou, Pepsi and Edgar all on one page as a family.

Helen I'm not sure Grumpy Nellie would fully approve of her pic :D. I'm struggling to find one of Fluffy looking friendly and welcoming!!

Re: New neighbours and possible problems

I agree with Julia that cat proofing would be a good idea. There are many on here that have successfully done that. You could talk to the neighbours about the dogs, but to be honest even if they said that their dogs would never harm a cat etc, I wouldn't risk the possibility of Max getting over the ...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

I agree that it would be good to have a meet up with them with a view to using them in the future. Let us know how you get on. They do look very good. If Dora can get used to them it would make you feel less guilty and under pressure if you have to leave her. It will give you peace of mind. Hopefull...

I think it can only be a good thing to at least meet them. I understand totally your concerns about leaving Dora with someone you don't know. I was terrified the first time I did it and was in pieces the whole time I was away. I agree that even if Dora doesn't feel up to getting involved with whoeve...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

Awww Shelly!! That would solve all our problems wouldn't it if we were altogether. My current cat sitter was recommended by a friend. That is often the best way. But in the past I did contact a couple of cat sitter's who I'd never met before. The one I ended up using was the one that rang me back an...

Re: Probably sounds really silly but.........

Shelly I know exactly how you feel. No you're not silly at all. I have been out for most of saturday and sunday this last weekend and I hate being away from Fluffy for so long. I know she would be ok but I can relax much better if I know that someone can come and see to her. I use a cat sitter. She ...

Re: Hellooooo

Hi Yogi. You look very handsome indeed :)

It was kind of you to let new boy Dave have a go first with testing out his photo. He's a newcomer to this kind of thing. I hope you're showing him how to catch frogs. Or maybe that's pushing it a bit too far.

Take care of each other xxx
