Re: Will a tall safety gate be enough?

The majority of safety gates have wide bar spacing that kittens can simply walk through... You can get mesh ones that don't have bars but they can climb those.....

Yes I too would get her to vet ASAP, it may be injury but one of mine went all like that and it turned out she was in agony with pancreatitis.

Re: Cat won't poop in the litter tray!

We had one in the rescue the same, we put an empty litter tray out and newspaper on the floor next to it and he chose the newspaper, so then always had a litter tray with newspaper alongside his one with litter for wees and was fine then. Some cats like to poo on a smooth surface...

Re: URGENT ADVICE NEEDED

The flu like symptoms and red gums sounds like calici virus which they can swab test for but treatment is limited. Antibiotics, sometimes teeth removal to help the gums and a drug called interferon is often used. The vomiting won't be related though. However a hypoallergenic diet or even just cereal...

Re: Kitten is poorly!

I guess it depends what her neurological condition is as to whether she will improve or not, is she still with her mummy and litter mates? Some kittens can be a bit delayed in developing but the majority of those are fine when they get a bit older. Did the vet give you a diagnosis? 5 weeks is still ...

Re: Found Cat - Struggling to help him!

Yes I agree with everyone else, I do rescue and have Ferals in my garden, so I often have un neutered males turn up and not leave, the ones that don't want to be in and friendly generally are your best friend within 6 weeks of being neutered, others take a little longer but once he calms down I reck...

Re: Ferals!

a local rescue may be able to loan you a humane trap to catch them with, then while they are In the vets being neutered they can be treated for fleas and worms at the same time. Cats protection sometimes cover cost of neutering Ferals too.

Re: Ferals!

Yes you would need to get them neutered before you end up with a colony in your garden! If you go to the find a rescue section on here you can put your county in to find all your local rescues and hopefully one of those will be able to catch them, neuter them and return them to your garden. This is ...

I tried wonky on HA- all bar one of my cats refused it and the one who did eat it got bright yellow poo!
Really seems to be lacking something IMO! Good luck!

Re: Kylie has decided to stay outside.

I tried quite a few dried and the best for her tummy and that she likes are zd and rc gastro intestinal, seems to be more upset by dried too as is fine on small amounts of Felix and applaws with it (not agail tho) so I do think it's the dried you perhaps need to crack, I'm lucky in that Marilyn isn'...

Re: Advice needed

I'm sorry if this offends you but seriously if the initial cat isn't really wanted then keeping more isn't a good idea as they will all turn into hairy big cats that moult. As a priority you need to get the outside mummy cat neutered, perhaps get a rescue on board who will re home the kittens for yo...

Re: Kylie has decided to stay outside.

My guess would be she is feeling better, I dread to think how long my Marilyn has been in pain for as there is such a difference in her, she is running round the garden and purring all the time, she has stopped hunching over in corners and heat seeking. She is just how she was years ago.... So if he...

Lumps at vaccination sites are common, the grain of rice type lump you can feel could be the microchip if your cat has one?

Re: Triaditis?

I think steroids will help if diet isn't the issue, but if intolerance is the issue I imagine that's the most important.... The zd meat looks and smells foul but she tolerates the dry well, although at first she was on rc gastro moderate calorie which she was also ok on, but due to wonkys intoleranc...

Re: Behaviour after abortion and neutering

While it is a big surgery for them at the time (depending how far pregnant) they generally bounce back very quickly and are none the wiser. As an ex ...

Re: Anyone have a cat on long-term steroids?

I noticed her eating more as a result of the steroids after about 5 days but the poos were still quite hit and miss until we went more hardcore on the diet, which was then more effective for her than the steroids but they do all vary. I know they wouldn't look to start reducing dose until they had i...

Re: Anyone have a cat on long-term steroids?

That exactly the trouble I had with Marilyn :( It's so hard as I could get her to eat it in some things randomly but that's no good with steroids it has to be regular. So am just relieved that for the moment I can control it with diet but if that changes I don't know what I will do. Think you can ge...
