Re: Should we get a playmate for our kitten?

Rear leg amputations shouldn't have any reduced mobility problems (unlike front legs who can struggle jumping down from height although this should still not keep them banned to the house) and so usually don't have to live as indoor cats so I would suggest there is another reason for her behaviour. ...

Re: Mother Cat Stalking Her Kitten - Separation Anxiety?

Has mum cat been spayed now do you know? If not then its imperative that this gets done as a matter of urgency so you will need to speak to the owner as to start with mum will soon be pregnant again and also she will be distressed about the kitten while she is still hormonal. Please take responsibil...

Re: Persian vs ragdoll kitten ?

A rescue moggy will be just as loyal and loving companion and there are 1000's needing loving homes!! I have 2 rescue Ragdolls in the rescue at the moment who have been used as a breeding pair for 5 years and have been neglected to sickening level in this time. They have respiratory damage and eye d...

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?

Don't even get me started on the idiots that part with up to a £1000 for a cross breed/mongrel because it has a stupid name is simply beyond me. I walked in to the vets the other day to a rather heated conversation between one of these idiots and the vet nurse because the dog was registered as 'cros...

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?

Hazel Unfortunately there are many people that 'actively' allow their cats get pregnant so they can sell they on, tax free bit on the side!! The reason this person with this litter have offered a pic of mum but not dad is because dad is unknown as any old un neutered cat could have got her!! If peop...

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?

I assume they are moggies? In which case they are not a 'breeder' just people making money out of a dire crisis of cat over population leading to 100'000's of unwanted kittens been destroyed a year!!!!

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?

As a rescue I won't home more than 1hr away as kittens have to return to our vets for 2nd vaccs and neutering and any further isn't fair. Cats and kittens that are fully vaccinated and neutered and so need no return trips I'll go a lot further for. I hope you have gone with a rescue and not some joe...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth

The whole cat food issue is a can of worms and to be honest mine use the 'spoilt brat' principle which basically means I feed them what they want and when they want it!! Thankfully I didn't use this principle with the human children!! All comercial cat food is pretty dire I think as cats digestive s...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth

I'd stick with wet, add dry so they can graze 24/7 especially in summer when wet is horrid if left and add in raw chicken wings to keep the tartar levels down as a natural teeth cleaner (if they'll take to them of cause!!)

Re: Kitten covered in cradle cap

Hes beautiful but why oh why did you buy him from a scumbag back street breeder who is just making money on the side with little concern for the mum or the kittens welfare. I bet she just let her badly bred persian female out to get knocked up by any old rouge tom on the street and is now just selli...

Re: Lethargy after vaccination

Advocate and a wormer?!!

Advocate is a flea treatment and wormer so why the double dosing of a worming tablet on top?

Personally I won't flea and worm on the same day as vaccs as its a heck of an assault on the system.

Re: Nee kitten. is it indoor or outdoor cat?

As many know I am completely opposed to enforcing confinement on a cat that doesn't want to be 'indoor only'. I know very few cats that this lifestyle suits. Saying that I'd love mine to 'choose' not to go out as it would do my blood pressure good. I think you have the right attitude and want the be...

Re: Operation night time lockdown is a failure

Why on earth are you adding another cat into this already extremely stressful situation? It just seems madness to try and make new introductions until you have managed to sort out the problems!!
