Re: Mia - Chapter 3

Hi Dave no need to tell you but as those little uns are young & you’ve netted your garden they’re safe aren’t they? Pebbles has Oriental in her & she’s very talkative with a demanding meow & very much the observer. Another reason why I had my pergola enclosed with cat netting was if I had trades in ...

Re: Cats spraying in the house and basement!

Hi Jessfish unsure if I can help but have you tried special masking urine products. Here we have a few but I used ‘Urine Off’ when Harper sprayed & toileted in my walk-in-wardrobe’s carpet. She was only a kitten & I used to put plastic garbage bags down & when I heard her n the bags in the early hrs...

Hello Issi lovely to read your post & that the little un’s name is Si. Yes I understand about fostering & taking them all. As you know Mr Top Cat (TC for short or my handsome man) & Snow Girl were surrender adoptions who I originally ‘fostered’ after losing my darling girl Mayday late 2015. Then in ...

Re: Dinner is served milady

Hi Issie well done for opening your home to this little Siamese. Pebbles’s is the first oriental I’ve had - & shes’s Xd with something else but has the oriental traits, talkative & follows me everywhere. Now does this little girl have a name? If her elderly ‘mother’s’ had a fall doubt if she’ll be g...

Re: Night time terrors: 1 year on

Hello Issi I’ve been absent from the forum for a while & catching up on people’s posts. Please accept my belated condolences on Ghandi’s passing. He sounded such a grand old gentleman. I’ve often said that with pets “there’s such a fine line between pleasure & pain” what apt words by Annie Lennox. R...

Hi Dave I’ve caught up on Mia Ch3.. those kittens are gorgeous. Reminds me of when I bought Harper home. She & TC bonded immediately & I often found TC asleep on the lounge with Harper curled up in his arms. He often washed her & still does. I always smile when I see them & Bentley together. Alas Sn...

Hi & welcome to this great forum. So sorry to read about your little fur babe. I’ve become addicted to a vet show here “Vet on the Hill”. Hi while I’ve not experienced adverse effects of flea treatment & I’ve not used Advocate, I know others who’ve used it & they’ve experienced reactions including loss of fur where treatment was put on. Hope Dave’s feeling a lot better. Flea infestations are horrendous.

I’ve been giving the Famous Five from Oz the beef, chicken & salmon as well as chicken & turkey. So far so good. Haven’t tried the Sensation Sauces. They get fresh meat & chicken necks at the weekend.

I’ve left mine for a couple of days. Left extra litter trays, gave them a good dinner the night before, gave them breakfast as well as leaving extra dry food & water. Some people I know leave a radio on for company but as we have electrical storms I’m hesitant to do that.

Mayday had a murmur don’t know what grade & I had her for 21+ years. She used to cough a bit. Harper also had a murmur as a kitten but as she got older it stopped. You must do what you feel is best for the kitten & you. Sounds +ve if the breeder’s going to keep her as well as retiring the queen & St...

I just read Kay’s post & wise words to you & thought of a saying a prominent radio announcer says of someone dying .. “No one ever dies unless the memories fade”. Hi just after I got Bentley he didn’t come for his dinner. Very unusual. That afternoon I noticed his 3rd eye was up but thought he’d been asleep. I thought he’d escaped & panicked. Found him under my bed looking dismal. Took his temp & it was high. Put him in carrier with ice block wrapped in towel...

Hi Mollycat no personality change. Mayday was a Tortie but not naughty unlike the Tuxedo terror, Harper, who I’m sure thinks her name is “Naughty Girl” And Mayday had the softest fur. Miss her to this very day. She definitely left paw prints on my heart. How’s Molly going?

Cat Netting

Hi know a few folks have enclosed areas for their furbabes. Having a 3mx2.4m pergola enclosed with cat netting with a cat flap in my security screen door with a zipper opener/closer. And it’s snake proof-a concern of mine. This gives the Famous Five extra space. Looked at various options to enclose ...
