Re: My 3 legged cat

My Mayday when she had her hind leg amputated used to 'flip' until she gained her balance. She too used to try & scratch her ear with the missing leg. She soon gained balance with her tail as a rudder perhaps that's the issue if your darling has lost their tail. Animals cope so much better than us w...

Re: Does it get any easier?

Wanda I'm sure you & Molly will be great for each other. And I'm rather fond of Torties as you know. I've adopted Jezebel who is still under the bed after 5 weeks but does come out late afternoon early evening so we do a bit of bonding then. I'm also fostering 2 who were surrendered. The little blue...

Re: Very nervous rescue kittens

Seasoned carers such as Lillynmitz, Crewella, Bobbysgirl & others give great advice. Jezebell's a scaredy cat but does come out from under the bed for me to talk & stroke her. I've also taken on fostering 2 more as Little Paws were full. They were surrendered as people were moving & couldn't take th...

Re: Jezebel Gingivitis & hiding

Hi Meriad Jezebel was in a cage with another cat Ninja & Napples the Main Coon in Deb's house with Bengals & other cats. She just took to Napples. I've put her back in the bathroom & just got up to make a cuppa & heard her meowing. So she obviously wants company. I'll go & see her shortly. Im not go...

Jezebel Gingivitis & hiding

Hi Deb from Little Paws visited Sat & Jezebel came straight out when she heard her voice. Deb checked mouth & bit of gingivitis. Jeze did get out from under the bed yesterday morning & I stroked & spoke to her but was soon under the bed. Deb gave me Vibavet paste yesterday. Issue - I had to get Jeze...

Panzey my heart goes out to you. I lost my Mayday, my avatar, after 21+ years. She left me early in the hrs after meowing to me & I didn't get up. I still live with the thought I let her down. I did get to spend around 30mins with her. Elsa was pts last week as she had ckd. I found the decision to p...

Re: Australian plan to kill 2 million feral cats

Parenthesis I agree re penalties for those who abandon cats as well as for those who don't castrate or spey ! Always cats get the bad publicity & it should be us humans. Feral cats in the outback are a problem with our native wildlife such as the Bilby - our Easter bunny substitute. And the feral ca...

Re: Jezebel

Hi Crewella 2 weeks today. I've asked Deb from Little Paws to visit & do some cat whispering. I've an appointment with the vet I volunteer for on Monday but don't think it's going to happen. Don't want to scare her by forcibly catching her to put in a cage for the visit. And yes I'm probably having ...

Hi Sheluvedit my Jezebel in same mode as Your Bam albeit it's 2 weeks today since I bought her home. In the afternoon or evening she'll lie on top of beds & I stroke & talk to her but in the mornings under the beds. I'm persevering but first time I've had a nervous Nellie or scardey cat. Well I thought we were progressing but alas Jezebel still a nervous nelly! When I do get to pat/hold her she purrs but the next time I try, she withdraws. Also two occasions her breath stank. Elsa ckd rip

Alas today I found my Elsa girl gone in the back legs, breathing laboured & really not with us. I raced her to the vet I volunteer for but I knew .... She was only with me for 5 years after being lost/abandoned in our 2011 floods & Deb from Little Paws asked me to 'foster' her as she was depressed. ...

Hi Lilynmitz no tall cat tree but a scratching post which she can sit on. I think the curtain came down as a cat may have been around. She woke me up growling. Hi Jilly & Lilynmitz an update. Deb from Little Paws was surprised when I text her as she's a happy cat & she doesn't like rough pats as she's a very gentle girl.
