Re: World Spay Day, free spaying and neutering
Do they only do this once a year? I remember reading on facebook that my local Cats Protection had one in June. Does it vary for each branch?

I had no idea that they did this until reading this post. I find this shocking and appalling.

I have the one alanc linked to. It does an amazing job and Alfie loved being groomed with it. He would purr so much and salivate.

Re: New user - Cat with squamous cell carcinoma
So sorry to hear of your loss too Antonio. I had hoped she was still going strong with the amount of care that you gave her. I too keep seeing my boy everywhere. When I leave the back door open when cooking or washing up, from the corner of my eye I see a big shadow walk in but when I turn to look h...

Re: Cat has colon cancer - advice needed
Thank you for all the kind messages. Alfie would have been 11yrs old on the 8th of April. He died four days short of his birthday. I had to visit the in-laws with the kids over the Easter hols so didn't get a chance to fully grieve. When we came back on Sunday I felt the gaping hole in my heart. I h...

Re: Cat has colon cancer - advice needed
Had him euthanised today and held him in my arms for ages afterwards. It was time to let him go. He stopped eating and was vomiting clear liquid yesterday and he stumbled when I gently put him down on the floor. I was scared of waking up and going downstairs this morning as I had a feeling things we...

Re: Advocate, Frontline or Bob Martin??
Do you buy it directly from the vet or get it online with a prescription? Do the vets write out these prescriptions for you if you ask? I guess they lose out on some profit as the ones I’ve seen online are half the price if bought directly.

Re: which cat food???
Same here. All my cats were on supermarket brands. I had never heard of these 'posh' brands before, didn't even know they were available! Tried the Lily's Kitchen one for my cat with cancer as he's going off his food. First time he ate loads of it. Result I thought, something he could eat! Next day ...

Was wondering what you fed your cat? Supermarket brands like Felix/ Whiskas or the expensive stuff like Lily's Kitchen/ Natures best. What is the best food to give? Does it make the cat live a healthier and longer life? Or is there no benefit? Would really like to hear what you feed your cat be it a...

Re: first time kitten owner - totally blind
Best to keep kitten in one room first. Also at night time put it in a dog crate with its bed, food and litter tray. Kittens have really sharp teeth and can chew electric wires. I feel comfortable doing this as it's peace of mind. They have so much energy bouncing around. Enjoy your little one!

When to introduce a kitten to a resident cat
Thinking about getting a kitten...
When would you introduce it to the current cat? After it has had all it's vaccinations?
My other cat is an outdoor cat and I don't want it to pass anything on to it.

Re: Pet insurance
I've never had insurance for the 3 cats that I have had so far. Two were strays an old cat and a young kitten. She went to the vet once to get spayed after she had her kittens and she's never been since (touch wood). We kept one of the kittens and he's the one I have spent the most on. He currently ...

When should you get it? Insure new kitty immediately? Or after it is neutered?
If you choose lifetime cover with an insurer, can you change to a different lifetime insurer when the year is up for a better quote? Or do you have to stay with them?

Hi, just wondering what pet insurer to choose. Do most people choose pet plan?
Do you initially go for the yearly option or choose lifetime?? Or no insurance? So confusing!

Once your kitten has had their first two vaccinations and then the booster one at 12months. Do you continue to have the yearly booster ones that the vet recommends. This is for an outdoor cat.

I've stopped syringe feeding him. I don't think Recovery agreed with him and I don't think he was happy about being syringe fed, even though he took it without a fuss. All I can do now is give him good end of life care. He is still eating on his own. I bought some kitten food and he's loving it! Tod...

Re: Cat has colon cancer - advice needed
Thank you Antonio. I'm just hoping that as it was his first time with recovery, his tummy is a bit sensitive to it, as it is quite rich. Just watching him rest he seems okay. Not hunched up in a ball but stretched out and looking comfortable. I was thinking of calling the vets this morning but upon ...
