Re: new FIV owner & Gingivitis

One of my cats had terrible gums described as 'like raw liver', like Julia's cats he wasn't FIV either, (although the vet was very surprised due to the state of his mouth and other issues) but was in his teens when we adopted him. After trying all treatments including abs, mouthwashes, me scraping t...

Re: I could really use help and advice on further dealing w

I wonder whether leaving the tap just dripping for a while would help? I've also found some cats like water fountains, or 'their own mug' left on the floor with some water in is really tempting for many cats over their water dish! Those things worked for my crf cats, although I never had to syringe ...

Re: My little cat died suddenly last sunday

We haven't adopted another cat since, so it's been a long time, initially I just needed time, that was just my personal choice . We do care for some ferals though so we've not been without feline company even though it's just outside. We were going to adopt another oldie but we decided to have a hol...

Re: My little cat died suddenly last sunday

Hi, it was April last year and my old girl hadn't been out all winter and it was a lovely day. She went missing and we found her the following morning in the allotments just behind our garden, but didn't know what had happened. That's when I went to my vets to to discuss with them because I just wan...

Re: My little cat died suddenly last sunday

I am so sorry for your loss ((hugs)). I experienced a similar situation with my cat, she was we believe, attacked by a dog although I didn't find my little one until too late and didn't know what had happened until I witnessed the same with my feral cat the following week and he was left identical. ...

Re: Early morning wake up calls!!

I get this a lot with my foster cats initially. I agree with the ignoring, after a week or so my latest foster cat has settled now and this morning didn't even get out of her bed when I got up! I also make sure there's some food down usually give them some wet food and leave biscuits to nibble on th...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL

Hi Notjustcat, I've not been following your story so I don't know the ins and outs here. I was just wondering though, have you tried actually picking Cheyenne up and putting her on your knee and if so what happened? The reason I ask this is that I foster for RSPCA and I get a lot of sad cases whereb...

Hi, Scatty's right - in many cases this rule is very often due to the landlord's concern about pets ruining their carpets or furnishings. However, there is lots of advice and information here which may help you persuade the landlord otherwise: http://www.letswithpets.org.uk" onclick="window.open(thi...

Re: Widget, urgently seeking new home! Loughborough!

So sorry about your mum, and that you and Widget are in this situation, was he close to his partner? I do hope he's not missing his pal too much too. Have you tried all close family or friends as they will be your best bet, at least until a rescue can take him in. Here's a list of general rescues in...

Re: At my wits end - do I have my 7 year old put to sleep?

I think I would agree with Camdengirl, I would do all I could and you never know..if you don't you may regret it. I am not in your position though so if you're really unsure, I ask my vet what they would do if it were their cat.

Please give your little chap a gentle snuggle from me xx

Hi, it's very kind of you to care for this cat, did you take her to the vet to check for a microchip?

Re: Help please - cat with cage phobia

Hi, I would get in touch with a local rescue such as Cats Protection asap. I've contacted them for the loan of a trap and I would think they'd be best to advise if trapping is difficult as they have lots of experience. If they can't help try other local rescues. Best of luck.

Re: Operation night time lockdown is a failure

Hi, I've not read all the thread and don't know much about the background of this, but it sounds like you've posted before? anyway reading your first post I was wondering whether you've tried adding some soil to the litter tray to encourage your cat use it? that sometimes can help if the cat is used...
