Re: JOINING AGAIN.

What a lovely picture. I think it's great when our pets get on so well with each other. They have a lot to teach us.

Re: Dry Cat Food recommendations

Generally Iams is the biscuit of choice with my lot. Though at the moment Royal Canin is going down very well (that's good 'cos it's on offer!) But whatever you try, buy a small one first! How many of us have read the blurb on a brand of cat food and thought 'that sounds good' only to have the littl...

Crikey I thought our late lamented Rosie was big! We all miss Rose, she was a very protective big sister. I could not have raised Willow without Rosie's help.

Simon's Cats - you could have something there! Crewella - ditto I wish I'd had you guys as customers when I was in business! The number of times people wanted to 'hang on to the designs to show my wife/husband'. Yeh, free designs and a cheap job done by some bloke up the road. BroadBean - ple...

Re: Bob's first day out

Bobby's a little monkey. He sits as good as gold when I am near him. But the minute I turn my back he's off into the undergrowth at a surprising speed! Nice that he feels like doing that. I'm thinking of getting, or making him a little hi-vis 'waistcoat (with fast-release press studs?). I thought it...

Re: Stray with a lump

It might be an abscess due to a whack from another cat. Grace had one and she became quite poorly with it. It needs looking at. The RSPCA or your local animal welfare centre could help.
Good luck

Bob's first day out

It was a nice day today and very warm. We've been suffocating with all the windows shut - to keep Bob in. So I thought 'what the heck' and opened the windows. Whoosh he's out.

Yes it may take time for him to settle back in and you are right to keep him in - for a while anyway. Try not to smother him (I just know that is going to be hard) let him come to you.
That said....

Re: Home Available for Street Savy Cat:- Iver

You are obviously aware of the problem so I think it is no reason to give up altogether. I was just a little concerned by your first post that you were expecting the cat to roam! When Willow (our 1st cat) was young she strayed onto the lane just as a car pulling a rattling trailer was approaching. I...

Re: Bobby update

Bobby was born with nerve damage to his front left leg. He managed just fine until the leg got infected. The infection took so long to heal that the vet thought there might be an underlying problem. There was - he is FIV+. So we had the leg removed to prevent future problems. With the FIV he took a ...

Re: Dilemma

Mmm that's a tough one. Both Lyn and Janey are giving good advice. First of all if the little man is use to you, it should be fairly easy to dose him with Frontline yourself. He is probably picking up ticks too. So the Frontline will help with those beggars. Our vet works with a local animal welfare...

Re: Home Available for Street Savy Cat:- Iver

Hello Tizzy First of all welcome to CC. Sorry for the loss of your cat. It is nice of you to offer a home to another Kitty. Where in the country are you and what exactly do you mean by Street Savvy Cat? It sounds as though you were very lucky with your cat as every day dozens of 'Street Savvy' cats ...

Hi folks, I must admit my first post was not well thought out  It comes hot on the heels of last weekend. We had the opportunity of a weekend break (our one and only holiday this year). My mum was happy to look after 4 of the cats but was uneasy about being responsible for Bob so soon after hi...

Great advice Grace and I hope it works for KittyWitty. I know why Purdy (our Top Cat) sprays, I just don't know how to stop her! Tried EVERYTHING, and I can understand Spraying near doors and windows but the microwave? What's that ever done to her? The bane of our lives, Nasty Cat, sweeps by n...

Like Val, I have photo's of 'lost' pets, cats and dogs. Your emotions are too raw at the moment. But, in time, a photo of them makes you smile and remember the good times you had with them, and how lucky you both were to have each other.
Best wishes

Re: Advice needed urgently please my cat may be PTS!! :( :(

My heart goes out to you. I can remember the awful sick feeling I got when my husband called me to say Bobby was FIV - this was on top of his infected leg. (I was doing the weekly shop at the time - trying to hold it together in Asda!) We had little choice but to amputate. Because of his condition t...
