Re: Little Batcat is missing since Saturday :-(
Oh this is so sad. I hope he turns up. I sometimes worried about my Theo being an indoor cat but whenever I read these posts it really puts it in perspective for me. I know id never let him out now. I decided for definite when I read the horrifying post about that poor cat with the tin can stuck on ...

Re: Sainsbury's Premium(ish) food 1/2 price
Yes I tried putting Iams in with his Go cat and another more expensive one (can't remember the name) but he wouldn't touch it. He just sniffed it and walked away. He does love his gourmet pate so I wonder should I give him that twice a day instead of the Go cat. Its funny because my daughters cat wi...

Re: Sainsbury's Premium(ish) food 1/2 price
Markb my cat will only eat Go cat. Ive tried for over a year to get him to eat something different but he will actually go without food rather than eat anything else. He does have a tin of gourmet gold every night too but even with that he will only eat the turkey pate. Is there something bad with G...

Theo is due for his yearly check up, booster injection and flea treatment and claw trim at 10 am this morning at the vets and hes sitting in the back bedroom upstairs meowing. When I go in hes just staring at me and wont let me stroke him. Very strange for theo. he loves his cuddles. So im sure he s...

Re: How can I prevent my cat from going to the toilet inside
Totally agree with meriad. It sounds like he didn't want a cat in the first place if he wont do anything to help Jasmine. What a shame. Im no expert but to me the obvious thing is a litter tray for now and plenty of love and affection. And if the man of the house cant live like that then id keep the...

Re: how often for flea treatment
Meriad when Theo was taken to the rescue he was full of fleas and scabs so they were treating him with Advocate monthly. He was in there for a year. When we adopted him they told us to carry on with the advocate monthly even though we said he wouldn't be going out and all his skin was clear. When I ...

Re: New cat owner advice please
Hi there. My cat (theo) is an indoor cat who also hardly ever uses his scratch posts. ive got 2 upright ones and 2 flat box types but he just sits on those two  . I take him to the vet when his claws get long enough to cause him to get caught on things (carpet, furniture etc). Id never try mys...

Re: how often for flea treatment
im so glad I asked this. he gets so distressed with the treatment (frontline) and when I asked my vet how often he needed it he said every month. even though I told him hes an indoor cat. Hes due his annual check up and needles in march so I think I,ll leave his next one till then and then I,ll just...

how often for flea treatment
Hi everyone. Im not sure if ive asked this when I first got Theo but how often do I need to do his flea treatment. Hes an indoor cat and up to now ive done it once a month but a friend said he shouldnt need it that often if he doesn't go out and she does hers every three months. So now im confused :...

Im learning every day
I honestly didn't know how clever cats are till I got Theo. He actualy amazes me how he knows words. Last week we got him a huge climbing frame (6ft tall) and at first he was scared of it. (nothing new there with Theo). Well he knows the word *treats* and comes running if I say it. So I put the trea...

? about cat grass
Well I got some and grew it (it took 4 days) and Theo just sniffed it and walked away. Is there anything I could do to encourage him to eat it because ive read that indoor cats really need to eat grass to prevent hair balls forming in there stomach. I got the feeling he didn't like it touching his n...

Awww thanks mr frisky and Alice. I scrolled through and found my old post asking about this and yes the cat mate was recommended so ive ordered it from Amazon. Re: How do you feel about declawing?
Its disgusting. And please do not compare mutilating a cat to having an indoor cat. Absolutely no comparison. And one more point I must add, although not ideal, some animals live long and very happy lives in shelters. They are well looked after, well fed, warm and loved by the staff. Yes in an ideal...

Re: CARDBOARD SCRATCHERS
Oh I just purchased one of these from amazon uk. Theo loves it and he curls up and goes asleep on it. I have the upright scratch posts but he doesn't use them much (he prefares my leather couches unfortunately) but he has had a good scratch on this. I looked at a few and I always read the reviews. M...

update on theo
Just wanted to share. Theo is so affectionate and loves to lie on the floor and have his belly rubbed. But hes never been a* knee cat*. The couple of times ive picked him up and sat him on my knee he quickly jumps off and doesn't seem to like it at all. So we never try now, hes happy just being stro...

Re: cat nipping
My theo does this all the time but its a very affectionate little nibble, not a bite. He kind of touches my hand or arm with his teeth very gently. he does it when we get up in the morning and when we come in from work. He gets all exited and rolls over etc and head butts us. I love it.

Awww have to agree with kay. One of my neighbours did the same with her cat flap and her cat was hit by a car in the night and struggled home only to be locked out. She found it next morning terrified and injured crying at the cat flap. .
