Re: Anyone ever find blood in faeces?

I did take her to the vets and she was seen within an hour of me phoning up. I took the baby wipe I used to clean it off her with me. There were no signs of cuts or trauma down there. The vet took her temperature and checked her abdomen, weight etc. She didn't think there was any obvious sign of a p...

Re: Anyone ever find blood in faeces?

Hi. I've noticed blood on the fur behind the bottom of one of my cats this morning. At least I know who it was likely to have been in october.

Do you think I should take her to the vets?

Behaviour has been normal ever since then, as I've been keeping a dairy.

Re: Cat Sitter

I leave my cats at home for 11 hours most weekdays when I go to work. I have an internet camera so I get a notification on my phone every time one walks by. I leave loads of cat biscuits down for them to eat when they want. I have left them overnight before, but get my sister to come in and check on...

As you say, he is confused by the new environment (and probably different people).

I'm sure he'll perk up.

She's also far too young to have such a cancer, I would suggest.

Still no recurrence, so I'll chalk it down to a stomach upset.

Re: Is my siamese really a siamese?

I'd get a vet to check her out if worried. One of my cats (pictured on my avatar) has Siamese characteristics - blue eyes, mostly white coat, distinctive yowly voice and a tendency to jump on my shoulders, but I don't know who the father is. Her mother is a black and white moggy (also in my househol...

Re: My cat keeps waking me up really early and sleeping all day

I normally leave my back door or back window open slightly when they are out and don't want to come back in at night.

Almost invariably they are back in and on the bed just when I've settled down, and have to get up and close the door again.

Thanks for responding Janey.

I was immediately expecting the worst, but, if occasional, doesn't seem uncommon.

Are the likes of Whiskas and Sheba grain-rich, I wonder?

Anyone ever find blood in faeces?

I found some bright red blood on top of some diarrhoea two weeks ago in the cat tray. It could have come from any of the three cats, so I've been checking each one after they go (when I'm in) and haven't noticed a recurrence. The internet seems to suggest it isn't that unusual, as long as it's brigh...

I hadn't heard of bisolvon, but it sounds like a mucolytic (thins mucus).

I wonder if it's available for humans?

One of my cats had pancreatitis two years ago. She was seeking out soft, dark spots and wasn't eating much. Within two weeks she had put the weight back on and was her normal self. One of my sisters cats also had it a few years ago, and she's fine. The only medication my cat needed was the pills cru...

MIne walk with me up the road, without harnesses. They stick close by, exploring front gardens. I have to be on hand in case there's a car or a hostile cat. I get some strange looks sometimes.

Mine aren't so fussed about what they play with, as long as I give them attention and join in. Favourites include: laser pen in the bathroom (for some reason they wait in the bath for me to trail it along the wall tiles); tunnels, boxes, catnip mice and they also love the carpet tunnel - a carpet of...

If the cat will wear one, they soon get used to it.

Some of my cats have been able to wear collars, and I used to selotape a Loc8tor Plus tag onto it, so I could always track them when they went out. The collar came off at night.

Re: anyone had any experience with retina detattchment

One of my childhood cats, Cayenne, had two detached retinas when she was 13. She wasn't as active after that, but we kept on including her in things and she carried on for a few more years until she finally passed away of other issues. I was walking my dog around the same time and we met a couple wh...

One of my cats had 4 large red marks on her face and much of the fur missing where she'd been scratching a few weeks ago. The vet said they were infected flea bites, even though she'd been de-flead a month earlier. It must have come up very quick as I only noticed it one day. She's better now. Could...

but any treatment plan could take weeks to carry out, and I'm not sure your situation with neighbours and children gives you that option. That was my thought, too. Well done for looking after these cats. It's possible that the male had been previously interested in her before she was speyed, and now tries to see if she is in season, but then goes away when he realises she isn't. I had something similar with the mother of my kittens, when the ginger tom she lik...
