Re: Question about spot-on flea treatment.

Sorry for the belated reply but thanks for your responses MarkB and Elastu. I decided to wait just to be on the safe side :)

Re: Bailey has been shorn

Yes she will have everything she needs in with us :) She hates being on her own so it seems the best thing for her for now.

Bailey has been shorn

Bailey 'the frightened cat' on a previous thread was dematted under sedation today and had her ears cleaned and claws clipped. The vet nurse said Bailey was growling when her paws were touch even though she was sedated! The poor girl is home again looking part lion, part poodle and part sphinx as he...

Question about spot-on flea treatment.

My two new cats who are nearly 7yo were apparently given frontline on 1/4. Would it be safe to give them Advocate now or should I wait another week in case.. They have been scratching but they won't let me have a look in their fur yet, both are long haired. If any one can advise I would appreciate i...

Re: Insurance for older cats

Thanks for your responses. I will look at Petplan as my other younger cats are with them. Glad to hear they will carry on insuring them if they are already with them.

Re: Insurance for older cats

If anyone has managed to insure their older cats can you tell me which insurance company you use. Sorry if this has already been discussed, I couldn't find a thread on search.

Insurance for older cats

Hi,
I have two cats who are almost 7 years old and wondered who to insure them with as some companies won't insure over a certain age. Some seem to stop at 9 or 10 and I'm a bit worried I won't be able to insure them. :(

Re: Taking on a frightened cat..

Thank you Willowgill and Pinkglitter1 for posting about your experiences. I haven't posted back sooner as I've had a week in hospital due to Bailey's bite to my wrist becoming badly infected. My husband has been working wonders with both cats in the meantime, I even had a text to say Bailey was purr...

Re: Taking on a frightened cat..

Oh my goodness Lyn, she sounds just like Bailey! I really can imagine it will take that long for her to settle. She is very strong-willed and used to be very bossy with our boys in the past. She also loved to be out and about so being shut in a small room for any length of time has stressed her and ...

Re: Taking on a frightened cat..

Thank you lilynmitz for your good advice, I can see it will take quite a while for Bailey to trust us. I hope she will remember us eventually from her past and know we will never be mean or hurt her. She probably did feel threatened by us as we didn't get down on her level and tried contact way too ...

Re: Taking on a frightened cat..

Thank you so much for your reply, it's very helpful. It's heartbreaking to see her like this. You are right about seeing the vet sooner than later but the vet we usually see is away this week so not sure whether to see another one or not. She is the 'cat lady' of the practice, not sure of the others...

Taking on a frightened cat..

Hi, this may be a bit long but here goes. Yesterday we very unexpectantly acquired two 6 year old cats. History: they were very loved by their owner and were her 'babies' but she met and married a man who is allergic to them ie asthma, rashes etc.. Now they have a young baby and the cats have been c...
