Re: Darling Hermia
I'm sorry to hear about Hermia, Wendy, a much loved little cat, and so lucky to have had such a happy life with you. My Kitten and Mischa were also about her age when they died, but its never easy. Give yourself all the time you need to grieve for her. RIP dear Hermia, enjoy Rainbow Bridge with my g...

Re: At my wits end - do I have my 7 year old put to sleep?
I'm so very sorry to read this, Nettie, but I also think you made the right decision for poor Teddy. I lost Mischa to kidney disease and although the Vet told me it was manageable, I knew that at her age, she wouldn't have had a good quality of life. I also felt guilty, I had to go away to a Confere...

I'm so sorry to read about poor Teddy, Nettie. I'm afraid I have no experience of either condition but I want you to know that you are both in my thoughts. Please give Teddy a fuss from me, and a big {hug} for you.

Re: Cat with kittens behavoir
Good luck with your new arrivals! My late cat Mischa came to have her kits on my mum's bed at midnight when she was 11 months old - and she wasn't even our cat at the time (she belonged to a neighbour!). She was also so trusting and we could handle her babies as much as we wanted, but she never had ...

Re: Fluffy needs an operation!
I know the feeling, when Kitten was alive and on the bed, if she so much as sighed I was on full alert in case something was going to happen! 9 times out of 10 it was a "mum, why can't you keep still?" sigh!!! Mischa was slightly harder as she slept downstairs, but if she started coughing ...

Hi Kathryn
Just to say sorry I can't help, but I live in South Devon, which is too far, but please give Littlest a cuddle from me, and I hope he finds a lovely home soon.

Just to echo the comment from Walesgang! Well done on giving these two a new chance. There are more people on here who have more experience in this situation, but please give them both a fuss from me when you can.

Re: What litter do you use?
My girls always used Thomas cat litter which I found to be very good and easy to use, but I'm not sure what it is made of. I also got it delivered from a very helpful local pet shop - whoever calls litter "lightweight" needs reporting under Trade Descriptions!!!

When my Kitten went blind, she coped better than I did!
I would agree with everyone else, something is certainly not right, especially as she has been coping for a few months with blindness as you say? Please get her to a Vet as soon as you can, and fusses to your little girl from me.

Re: HELP I found lumps on my 18 yr old cats abdomen ..Cancer
I'm so sorry to read this. My cat Kitten had a stomach lump which didn't cause any problems for 9 months, but after that she suddenly couldn't lie down comfortably. I took her to the Vet who told me it had grown and moved suddenly, so I made the decision we all dread, she was 19 years old. Like your...

Re: Urgent advice needed for cat who was blinded yesterday
My girl Kitten went blind in 2012 (due to blood pressure, she did get some sight back). I would echo everything Lyn has said, I also put old cushions down around the kitchen units so if she did bump into them, it would be a soft bump. Although she had always been an outdoor girl, she adapted very qu...

Have any of you seen the really funny video of the cat and the printer with the cat "talking" as paper doesn't come out? Its really good (but there is some juicy language in there too).

Re: Had to have my 20 year old cat pts
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat, Carol. I had to put my girl Mischa to sleep a couple of months ago due to impending kidney failure (she was nearly 19). Feeling guilty is normal, but please give it time - it will get better. As mentioned, it seems these attacks (whatever they were) were becoming...

Hi Sarah, just want to pass on a big fuss to poor Edgar. He is really in the wars, isn't he?
Mischa and Kitten had special biscuits, not sure if this would help Edgar, but they were especially formulated for teeth, and you can get them from your Vet.

Hi Sarah I would just echo all that Lily has put. My late cat Kitten went blind in late 2011 (she did regain some sight but it was never the same), and she coped better than I did! I also made sure there were no obstacles, furniture stayed put etc, and she adapted very well to an indoor life (and sh...

Re: Roughly how much do you think it costs to 'keep' a cat .
I would say I was spending at least £75 a month on Mischa but that included monthly injections for arthritis. I always joked my credit card would beat her to Rainbow Bridge! Now she's gone, I would give anything to be spending that money on her again.
