Re: HELP! My cat often poos on the floor
I'm assuming you've taken him to the vets? It could be that he has a problem OR he had a problem and now associates those two spots as the correct place to go. You could go to town on those areas with one of the many products which get rid of the smell so he no longer smells 'litter tray' in those a...

Lost cat, Billingham, Cleveland
A man came into my workplace wanting to put up a poster about his lost cat. He was really gutted. I thought I might help out by putting the info up on the forum, if anyone has seen his cat please contact me and I'll sent you the contact details off the poster. The cat is called Floyd and went missin...

Re: Help / advice cats ears twitching over sensitive to sou
I’m no expert ( definitely the vet needs to be asked) but sometimes usual behaviour in an older cat might be due to mental issues. My little female, Twitch (13 years), sometimes starts yowling in the night. If I go all the way downstairs I discover that she wants something but doesn’t really know wh...

Re: A cat food conspiracy?
Thanks everyone for your advice. It does sound like senior food is best but also depending on the brands – I‘m glad to see MarkB uses Felix ‘As Good as it Looks’ stuff as well as me, it’s reassuring.....actually, my vet also followed up his recommendation for senior cat food with “we sell an excelle...

A cat food conspiracy?
My two cats are both 13 years old. For the first 11 years I’ve been feeding them normal cat food. After a few visits to the vet he suggested switching to senior cat food. I was of the opinion that there isn’t any great difference in adult and senior cat food – you’re paying more for nothing. However...

Re: Overprotective cat
I spoke to the Cat's Protection League when I wanted to adopt a stray (who turned out to be a crafty Six-Dinner-Sid). I explained that I had a full time job but money was still tight. They said they'd neuter for £10. This could have been because it was a stray, I don't know but it really is worth at...

Hi, Do I have your permission to copy and paste your message onto my work electronic notice board? I can't promise anything but there are a few hundred people where I work. I will email you any responses. If you're happy for me to do this then could you tell me their ages and what type of cat they a...

Re: Kitten troubles, can anyone advise?
She'll eventually calm down - I don't know how long though, it's been quite while since my 2 were kittens (now both 13). I do know my 2 used to chase each other. Twitch would chase Backy down from the attic room, down 2 flights of stairs, then right down the house to the bathroom....then they'd swit...

Re: Kitten troubles, can anyone advise?
How old are your other cats? If they're 10+ it may be all the excess kitten energy it stressing them out. You could try exhausting Echo. I've heard of one person who created a sort of cat 'assault course' involving an awful lot of leaping around onto things, they led their cat over it everyday by dr...

Re: Cats are not designed for skydiving
Please take Twitch to a vet ASAP to be on the safe side. Twitch hiding in a bolt hole after a fall is not a good sign. Please keep us up dated. Luv to Twitch. She's now on my computer chair (I've been relegated to a step stool) snuggled in my dressing gown and is back to purring and washing again. ...

Cats are not designed for skydiving
My little cat, Twitch, has successfully fallen out of a first floor window onto the wheelie bin and made a noise so loud we thought someone had slammed a car door. As we were downstairs with some friends at the time and we didn't think to investigate until they left - which was 4 hours later. Twitch...

Re: My cat is violently reacting to her own reflection
This may be a symptom of a health issue - so speak to your vet.
However, it could be excessive energy - get a toy on a rod, it's really effective for making your cat exhausted without doing the same to you!
Is she neutered? This could be hormones at work.

Re: Cheeky Cat Conundrum
Un neutered cats will always to roam and if you can contact his owners again they need to accept responsibility for him and neuter and chip him and then keep him indoors for a few weeks to teach him where home is again. I do rescue and had an unneutered male take up residence in my garden and comin...

Re: Letting cat out for 1st time
We took our last cat off a friend who had problems and could no longer look after her. We had her a while then moved house. We assumed that she'd have no interest in leaving the house as she didn't at our last place. We left the door open after only a week and she got out (unfortunately the story ha...

Cheeky Cat Conundrum
Hi everyone, this is my first time posting. I have a dilemma and I hope you can help. We have a black cat who visits us regularly whom we having creatively named BC (i.e. Black Cat). Throughout the summer he’s been here every day. We’ve left the back door open every day so our 2 cats can enjoy the g...
