Re: How to know when it's time?
I am so sorry, Cattuslove. It is a heartbreaking decision to make, but I always think of it as the last act of love you do for your little one. As Catslave said you will get lots of support on here. Many of us have had to make that decision to end the suffering of a beloved pet and let them go. My t...

Would love a kitten but.....
...I don't know how Dave would take to one. When he was living in my niece's back garden, he bullied her cats and, after the death of one of niece's cats (who we believe kept Dave at bay) he really tried to dominate the other two. And when she came down one morning and Banshee and Louie were outside...

Oh I'm so glad your little lad is recovering well, Lemonbella. And I'm pleased that the police have taken it seriously. I hope the dogs' owners will act more responsibly now where their dogs are concerned and keep them on a lead. Give your boy a gentle fuss from me and a meow from my Dave. :) Grace

Re: Hitting a cat/I stole it
Bless you for caring and doing something about that poor little one's suffering. I'm sure she will have found a kind and caring home afterwards. My niece adopted a lovely little male cat who, when he first came to her was very timid and scared and hated his head being touched. With lots of love and ...

Re: Cat attacked by dog
Awww! Poor baby. That is a horrifying thing to go through for him. If these dogs were on a main road and not on a lead as well as out of control, I would report it to the police if I were you. It's irresponsible to have dogs running amok on the street. They could injure a child or cause an accident ...

Re: Hello and Sneezy cat help
This may sound odd, but does your 'resident menace' :D eat grass? I have known it that sometimes, a blade of grass can get stuck in the cats throat and also irritate the nose causing cat to sneeze a lot. I have hears of vets finding the grass high up in nostril and pulling it out. Just a thought but...

Re: TC loose stools
Aww! Poor old TC. I hope he's soon feeling better.
Could it be a change in his food. I know Dave had very loose stools a while back and it was the food in pouches with gravy. Sheba I think. When he went back to normal food he was fine again.
Give TC a fuss from me and Dave.

Thanks everyone. Poor boy made a right state of his nose whilst in his carrier. He knocked the top off and it bled everywhere. :o Anyway, bathing his nose is a joy....not! He hates it but I tell him it's for his own good. :D Now I've got to put the flea drops on him as well. Ah! the joys of fur baby...

Dave vet update.
Just back from vets and here is update. The vet, a lovely lady called Francesca, thinks it is an ulcer of some kind on his nose. She examined it thoroughly and there's no swelling, his nostrils and mouth are clear and heart and lungs ok. She did get a second opinion from a colleague and he seemed to...

Awww! Thanks again everyone. I feel much better reading your messages. Yes, Crewella and Bobbys Girl. The deleted posts were quite nasty and it was a cat hater. All this persons posts have been anti cat, Kay. She has no business being on this forum.
Anyway, thanks for reply, Kay. I've calmed down now. I'll go Friday and let you know how we go.
Thank you.

So scared for Dave
I have an appointment at the vets on Friday for Dave. The spot on his nose is bigger and I'm terrified that it's squamous cell carcinoma. He is eating ok and still going out, but I know the thing needs attention. I'm dreading Friday morning. :( Just needed to tell others who would understand my fear...

No, you're right, Elastu. I won't either and I decided not to go today.
The thought of leaving Dave out all night is too awful.
People will just have to realise that my cat comes before anything else.

Leaving my cat overnight.
Today, I was meant to go away just overnight and tomorrow. However, because of the very warm weather, Dave won't come in. As I don't want to leave him out all night (though I know he'd love that) and I have no neighbours atm and my friends live away, what do I do? I don't have a cat flap, but I have...

Re: Putting my cat to sleep TOMORROW - worried it's not right
My late cat, Oscar, who died of kidney failure in 2012, and I had a morning ritual. He would stand on the top stair and I would go down two steps turn around and kiss him from his head to the tip of his tail. Then I would go down another step or two, so would he and the kissing ritual followed. This...

Hi Jules and welcome. I feel for you and your girls as my cat, Dave was a stray and terrorised my nieces cats. So I adopted him. Anyway, could you take a photo' of this bruiser and, if so, log onto this site: https://www.streetlife.com/ and join for your area, and post a photo of him and see if he b...

Thank you for your replies, everyone. It's good to know I'm not the only one with a 'always outdoors in the summer' cat. :D He does spend all day outside when the weather is good and warm. He loves it; you can tell he does when he rolls around ecstatically in the dust :D @Kay, the kennel sounds like...

Aww, thanks for replying, Catslave (love that name. It's what we are :D ) Dave wandered in at 03:15 just after I posted. Dave wont come in at night.
While we've been having this nice, sunny weather, Dave has been staying out all day. Mostly keeping near the house, lying in the sun but sometimes going off somewhere. I don't have a problem with that as he loves being outdoors. However, he wont come in voluntary at night. I have to tempt him in or ...

Well, old thread I know, but yesterday bought some Gourmet for Mouse to take her glucosamine/chondroitin stuff in and included in the package was a free sample of the notorious soup, complete with 'whole prawns and tuna loins'. Do tunas have loins? I googled 'loin' and got pictures of:- A lion. A t...

I am sorry for your loss, Rectangle. I know just what losing a much loved cat feels like. They are our family, our friends and part of us. I've just been outside in the garden with my niece's 15 week old kitten. Re: Killer Cat
Sorry, but this is what cats do. It is as natural to them as breathing. Some cats are better hunters than others (usually neutered females) and will bring many kills home to their humans. My late Holly was like that; no bird or rodent was safe from her jaws. My Dave brings me rats and I tell him wha...
