Re: I think her time is drawing near

We can get her there anytime. It looks worse then it is. We got her close with cuddles.

Re: I think her time is drawing near

I think my girl is drifting away. She is having bouts where she keeps gagging and at same time her face looks disoriented. Oh my girl.

Shelly will have her friends up there and she will get to meet new friends.

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Everyone thank you. I know you all will help me through.

We tried and tried but she can fight no more. I cry every moment, my cats are my world. I remember when we adopted her so many years ago. She will be gone in about 14hrs. I will cuddle her and tell her I love her deeply.

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Julie I am with you. She needs peace now.

It will break me in two and I will cry for days, but I know that I did what was best for my girl. Thanks Julie x

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Mark yes I get what you are saying. I would go for the scan but currently she is too weak to go under again. It would be such a risk!

Re: I think her time is drawing near

I knew deep down that I wont win this fight and that Shelly just wants to rest. But I was trying and trying and for her I would never give up.

Re: I think her time is drawing near

I have just a looonnggg chat with another vet. And the outcome is one I have fought so hard to not let happen. A spoke to another vet who has seen Shelly couple times before just to get another view or opinion. Now before I start I trust me vets...I have not ever doubted them, but only doubted mysel...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Maybe an IV drip is the thing that is needed. That will get her built up strong enough to be able to go under for an x-ray on her teeth.

Then again...she may drop down again after a few days which the vet suspects. I don't want her going in and out poor girl.

Re: Cat isn't eating like normal I don't think

I agree with the others. Keep an eye on her and if she does stop eating suddenly or is only taking in tiny amounts then get her to the vets. But it's possible the birth has shaken her a bit and usually when cats get stressed, the first thing that happens is their appetite drops.

Re: I think her time is drawing near

It seems she does want to eat yes. I can imagine the vets will try what we have...the only way to get her eating again is....a tube? But I don't like the idea of that at all...bless Shelly, I doubt she would either. I am awaiting a call back from my vets, but I will give them another bell and explai...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Yeh I get what you are saying Julie. I at time think it's possible issues on her teeth/mouth. The obstacle I am facing is one....there are no direct signs that something is wrong with her mouth/teeth....two, we can't risk knocking her out again as she is weak enough as it is. She has to be build bac...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Sounds very similar. Well I know for sure that Shelly was eating fine right after her dental, it's been 5 months since her dental. That is why I am not sure it's something in her teeth cause I would have been sure it would have shown much earlier. Plus, after thinking...if there was any problems in ...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

In May Shelly had a dental, she had two teeth removed and the rest cleaned. She was eating perfectly fine after that. I thought, if she had trouble with her teeth for instance like a bit of teeth was left behind...surely the issue would have arise then and not just now? It's been months since then a...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

That is the strange thing. She ate well at vets, then we brought her home with the food she ate at vets and she dfnt want it. We have two other cats, I wouldnt imagine she is is stressed. I have changed the bowls twice in last two weeks and also tried feeding her anywhere and everywhere, even her fa...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

Hmmm food allergy, wouldn't that come with other symptoms such as vomiting or dirrahea? Shelly has none of those. Eggs...yes I have not thought of that, will give that a shot. Although Shelly looks better then she has she is not eating a decent meal. And with weight dropping you gotta decide when en...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

She OK, looking more alert tonight. And she came when I was preparing food but again she wouldnt take to it, she then nibbled a mouthful of my Timo's food and then went away. We just syringed some milk into her and will do again later. Shell walked around all the bowls looking as if she was ready to...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

That is the issue, we just don't know what is wrong. All tests came back OK, all that is left is possible Neuro problem. If she had a brain tumour, the most common system is seizures, but Shelly has had none of them. Cats are never just cats are they, they are family! Bloods were taken about 36 hrs ...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

I had to rush back to PAH to exchange something and my mum gave Shelly two small pieces of beef and she ate them. Its very confusing right now. If we can carry on for a few more days, weeks or months even giving her little but often then I shall for sure...but if it is not enough and she continues t...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

I suggest keeping her indoor now, if she is carrying then you don't want to have the kittens anywhere, safer indoors.

Re: Pregnancy suspicions and change in behaviour

When you got her and she started going out, how long was she out for? I mean if you have had her for a few months and she has been out for at least a couple weeks, she sure would be carrying if she was not neutered. It doesnt take long for a Tom to find her and it would happen almost instant. Its be...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

As you were with Luna, I am off work now for a bit so I have these last few days with her. Shelly during day sleeps in shed where its warm and where she has slept during day for last nine years or so. My brother bless him loves Shelly to bits and she would always kneed him when he had her in his arm...

Re: I think her time is drawing near

She hasn't ate anything in last two hours but about five minutes ago we gave her milk. If Sunday and Monday carries on as it has been last few days then yes, I will let her rest. I won't let her carry on like this.
