Re: Does this mean I won't get my shed?
I was thinking the same as Crewella, I would presume the bloods will be done anyway. My vets have always done full bloods before dentals as routine. On senior cats e.g. they also need to check kidneys in case a drip is needed during ops.

Hi and welcome back,
I don't personally know of any catteries in Manchester but this page may be helpful and includes a link to finding catteries in your area:

Hope that helps.

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!
I do hope your cat is feeling much better soon poor lad.
Just a thought on visiting the vets next time, you could pop on some glasses, sunglasses or whatever so that will at least protect your eyes and should reduce the symptoms if something is irritating you.

Re: Older cat and new kitten cat flap issues
Hi, I don't know much about catflaps unfortunately because I've never had one. Are you planning keeping kitten in until he's been neutered? eta: Ah, crossposted :) re neutering - If it is because of neutering male cats should be neutered at 4 months or can be neutered any time after... see link here...

Re: Exceptionally tasty treats for cats
Things which my cats and ferals enjoy more than anything include Gourmet Perle pouches and pates, the pates are great for elderly and poorly cats I think as they seem to love them and they are very soft. Feline Fayre chicken fillets in jelly they love too! A bit of tinned tuna in oil for calories, o...

Just to add ( although I'm sure you already know this) not to give them the cooked bones as they can splinter and the cat can choke.

It may help to also raise his food and water dishes so that he's not spluttering so much when trying to eat. We had a cat with nasal problems and he was always very sniffly and blocked up and as well as the Bisolvon which I used to add a pinch to his water each day (to help keep the mucus thin), I b...

Re: LACTULOSE FROM PHARMACIST - IS THIS SAFE FOR BARNEY PLEA
I would definitely check with vet before giving any laxatavies. My elderly cat was always constipated and the vet said some cats are that way. My puss also had failing kidneys but the vet advised against lactulose, she said if pushed a different laxative, can't remember what it was though now. GPs a...

Re: Hoover training...
I've had a few cats who have been mildly scared of the hoover i.e. not going frantic but have moved from the sofa seat to the back of the room and sat on top of the sofa. What I've found helps a lot has been to chat to the cat in a jovial way when I get the hoover out and whilst I've been hoovering,...

Re: Volunteering in a rescue centre
Hi AhmedUK, Shelters and rescue groups are always in need of more help, and there are always plenty of things to be done around shelters and sanctuaries (as well as on the admin or fundraising side). If you go to the Cat Chat shelters index page, you can choose your area from the map: http://www.cat...

Someone I know has a cat who is just like this, he went off his food then he's been eating fine for a few weeks, now off it again. Like you she can't find out why either. I've also experienced this with some cats too.

Ok thanks for explaining. Aww poor puss she sounds very frightened bless her and she must missing her home/owner I do feel for her. I fostered for RSPCA and all of the cats were cruelty cases or similar, it can be very difficult. You're probably doing this already but if it were me I would get down ...

Re: Traumatised cat hides
Hi and welcome. When you say the charity may take her back to her home is she with you temporarily then until she returns to her owners? Most of the foster cats we've had (that's me and my hubby) have been traumatised for some reason or another and have initially hidden in a corner, but we have kept...

Re: cat going in neighbours garden
A squirt of water is not harmful to the cat and useful deterrent, best not to let the cat see you administering the water though so the cat doesn't associate it with you, and needs to be done at the time of the offending behaviour otherwise the cat won't associate it with the negative effect. I woud...

Re: My first kitten is about 40% litter box trained. I NEED
Hello and welcome. Although cats are clean animals and like their trays clean, kittens may not have been taught properly from their mum, especially if they left their mum early, and the kitten can be confused also stressed in a new home. For starters, if you've not already tried this I would put the...

Re: My 10 week year old kitten keeps weeing behind the tv!
If it wasn't behind the TV I would suggest putting the litter tray there and gradually moving it to the appropriate place. Found – Elderly, blind, white female, (Royston S. Yorks)
Blind, elderly, white, longhaired female was found wandering near Summerfield School in Royston and taken to the vets yesterday morning (Monday 20 October). Not microchipped, no collar, according to vets approximately 15/16 yrs old. She is in good condition, friendly, and eating well. If anyone thin...

Hi, I am so sorry for your loss and know just how you feel. I also lost my elderly girl to a dog April last year, we don't know whether the dog managed to get in one of the small holes from the allotments behind us (which the ferals use) or whether our puss went through and the dog got her there (we...
