It could be that one of the internal stitches hasn't dissolved - you'll need to take her to the vet I think.

This is good news! Yes, the fur will quickly grow back - it's generally not thick on the head anyway (no underfur) so should be quicker than body areas. Jessie's face hair grew back very quickly. x

One thought - would it be possible to put a large heavy object against the outside of the locked cat flap at night, to stop Madam trying to break in when your girls are getting their beauty sleep?

Oh my! The little Madam! :o :o :o :o As you say a disappointment in some respects but thank goodness you know who she belongs to (and she was chipped) and maybe you can arrange something with the lady so that she can keep her inside a bit more - especially if your girls want to go out - arrange a so...

Re: males and spraying
It is a possibility, because unneutered males spray to claim territory, and once the habit is achieved they may continue to do it inside as well as outside even if they're neutered if they feel threatened or insecure about something. I have a male who was living rough and not neutered until he was 4...

Poor Bobby! I'm afraid I don't know about boosting immunity in cats, but I do give them their daily Licky lix (or equivalent from Miamor) which is a low calorie cream snack full of vitamins and minerals cats need.... Sounds like what Jessie did when she was bitten on the face - four deep puncture wo...

Excellent news, Joe - and congratulations on getting your little family back together and Casper reintegrated again. They must be such a joy to you and we know you look after them with loving care.

Re: Nervous Cat Urinating
Mmm, Front door and back window - this doesn't sound like random weeing to me. Do try weaning her into weeing into something appropriate in these spots, then moving them a little. I've not heard of weeing in these places because of separation anxiety, but that means I couldn't discount it either, bu...

This sounds a difficult dilemma - what does your vet advise, and what is the prognosis regarding the tumour (if it is a tumour)? I'm wondering too whether he should do a biopsy to see if the tumour is malignant or not. Having a general anaesthetic at any age is risky for small animals, and she's an ...

Oh what a shame for you and poor anxious little Jess. I've heard of cats weeing by front doors before when some other cat has been spraying on the other side of the door - I wonder whether this would be possible? How does Jess get on with the older cat in the home - is she anxious around her, or avo...

Re: Aggressive cat :( won't leave my cats alone.
To be honest with you I'd borrow a trap from the RSPCA, local Cat's Protection or local rescue (you can look for them on this website) and catch him or her, take to the vet to see if there is a chip and whether it's an unneutered male. My guess would be it is. We had three spayed females who were pe...

Re: Kala has pretty bad diarrhea with lots of straining and little poop coming out
This sounds very hopeful, Joe - if she is drinking and still energetic and starting to pass a motion again, even sloppy, it sounds like you're doing the right things with the chicken and the probiotics. It's good you can be around and watch her too, poor little girl. Let's hope it was the litter but...

Re: Kala has pretty bad diarrhea with lots of straining and little poop coming out
Poor little Kala! It sounds dreadful for her and I'm shocked the vet has not been more helpful. It sounds like she's got a really inflammed digestive tract and she needs some help. I'd also make sure she's getting only very simple food - chicken and pumpkin (helps with diarrhoea) and rice are good -...

Re: New cat / old cat situation worsening: what now? Is all hope lost?
I can't remember if I said this before, but I have 6 cats and one of them (my big lad) chases the smallest female and she's scared of him, so for the last couple of years he's stayed in the back of the house overnight (we have doors from lounge into kitchen and a couple of other rooms) and she stays...

Re: New cat/old cat
I would suggest you bring in the older cat and keep him inside until he re-establishes himself in his home. You will need litter trays (if he normally goes outside) and he hard hearted. The longer you leave him outside to make his own decision the more he will just reinforce his pattern of staying o...

So happy for you Joe - Milla now has her family back together and all are happy.
Hope you can get the spaying/neutering issue sorted out before there are any problems.
Well done for your patience and doing the right thing. Casper is home for good. x

Re: Cat in garden - Help!!
Hello MoggyMad - your unneutered visitor sounds very like my Bobby - and would make someone a wonderful pet. If you can coax him into a carrier get him to a vet to see if he is chipped. If he is, then problem solved hopefully and he can go home. If not he will need to be found a home. I suggest you ...

It's a wonderful and kind thing you've done, and I'm sure with patience and time these two will absolutely blossom. I agree entirely with Crewella - sit and read to them, let them get used to your voices and they will start to relax. I'm guessing they are handleable, as you've taken them to the vet ...

Well done and congratulations on Severus! We took 5 months to trap a similar wild boy over 2 years ago, and 8 months after neutering he moved in. He will always be a bit of a wild lad but the others have accepted him now and he's part of the family. He likes strokes unless he's feeling hissy fitty, ...

So sorry your beautiful Charlie is still missing. I would think someone might have taken him, as he is adorable. Let's hope he gets taken to a vet at some time and the chip checked. So glad you've found the totally adorable Marmalade! Too many cats who go missing are actually trapped close to their home. Thank goodness the outcome was good for Marmalade and the other cat. Re: Can i have a cat and work full time?
Yes. My own suggestion would be to go to as many rescues as will rehome to your area and look for either a single cat, or a pair that have come in together from a previous household. Although this will limit your choice you can be sure that they actually DO like each other, unlike cats who have been...

Thanks, Booktigger - he keeps weeing in the girl's trays as well as his 'own' - little darling! His choice is just inside the opening in the covered trays (we have a lot of variation in trays  ) Fortunately the litter is ant-bacterial but I have a new one to try in his room :-) We had to use s...

How long for the hormones to subside? Bobby is going 'cold turkey'
I've recently adopted a young 4 year old unneutered male (Bobby) who turned up in the garden as a stray and after the statutory period of searching and advertising no-one came forward and a chip check was negative - so I've adopted him and had him neutered. He undoubtedly landed on us because he'd r...
