Re: Advice please

I rehomed a kittie last October 1st, so 6 months ago......when I brought her home she hid in one of the bedrooms & stayed there, she still spends most of her time there now but does come down more now, I have always gone up to her every day, at the beginning I just sat in the room she was hiding...

Bella.

Well I have had Bella 6 months now, she still lives in the bedroom but does come down a bit more now, sometimes in the afternoon, but mainly in the evenings, she comes in the lounge & has a wash but if we move she runs back upstairs, she is so affectionate, loves to be fussed but not picked up, ...

Re: Settling in advice please

I adopted Bella 1st October last year, she was very frightened, ran upstairs when we got home from the RSPCA & is still there, she does come down now but not for many minutes & usually to let me know it is food time, she lives in my bedroom & loves fuss, almost craves fuss, she eats well...

Why does she do this?

Last night after I had fed Bella she started to eat then stopped & started to scratch as if she was covering it up, not seen her do this before, can anyone tell me if they know why she did this.

Re: My rescue cats mysterious past

I would really love to know Bella's past, I was told at the RSPCA that she was a stray in Birmingham, trapped by a lady & brought in to them, that was last September, I rescued her on 1st October, she was very thin, but her long fur was not matted or in bad condition so I think she hadn't been a...

Re: New Rehomed 9 Year old Nervous Cat

Hi Pilly88, I rehomed a cat from RSPCA last October, she was/still is nervous, she lives upstairs from day 1, I have got 2 Feliway Classic diffusers, I find they have helped Bella a lot, she is much less nervous now, she does come down a little bit now, but it is usually to remind me it is food time...

Re: Update on Bella.

Hi Booktigger............Really, the packet of dry food says 45gr a day, but that is if she just had the dry, so that's why I give her 40gr as I give her wet food as well. So you think I should cut the dry to 20gr a day or only give 1 tin of 70gr??

Update on Bella.

Well she is doing much better..........I bought 2 Feliway Classic, just to see if it would help her at all, it seems to be working fine, she is much more relaxed, she let me pick her up & look out the window a couple of days ago, she was very interested, she comes down stairs a bit more but I th...

Have you tried Feliway Friends, it is a plug in, I haven't tried that one, as I only have 1 cat but I do have Feliway Classic, my kitty was, still is a little bit very scared, she was a rescue that had been a stray, it is helping her come out of her shell, might be worth a try before you decide to r...

Thanks for the replies............I can understand all the scenarios, shame if the poor things go through an op just "in case" but I do understand it.

Another question if I can.... Bella's pupils are both different sizes........anyone know what this means please?

Any idea;s please.

There is something about Bella's past I can't understand..........she was a stray, trapped & taken to the rspca, they told me they estimated her age to be "a young adult, maybe 5 years old" also they had spayed her (the scare was very well healed & fur was about 1/4 inch long) when...

Re: Warning about feeding a raw meat diet

I was always being told that a raw diet was not advisable for my dog, a long furred GSD, (I know this is a cat forum, I'm just saying) I fed her raw for over 10 years, she had to be PTS age 12.5, a good age for a GSD, she really enjoyed it & most of her life was very healthy, I had to have her p...

Re: How much to feed?

Dishes only get washed when they go on holiday....Oh yuk, I wash Bella's dishes after each meal, She is relatively new to me, so maybe I am a bit over the top, but I couldn't bare to think of not washing the dishes regularly.

Re: How much to feed?

That makes it even harder..........how much more, a whole days supply of dry food for her weight, (3.5/4kg) says 45gr, but that is if I were to feed just dry but I like to feed wet as well, so if I feed 70gr wet complimentary food, how much dry complete shall I feed, my thoughts are about 30gr, woul...

Lilith......Bella likes this Sanicat clumping litter, it is me that doesn't, the litter tray is in my bedroom so when she scratches the litter to cover her toilet, it creates dust, not a lot, but enough that I can smell it & cough/sneeze, (Bella still doesn't come down stairs much) Not sure abou...

Re: Bella wont eat wet food.

I used to raw feed my German Shepherd, she loved it, that was my intension when I got Bella, but it seems to be a lot more difficult for cats, when I first had Bella, she ate anything I put in front of her, but as time has gone on she has found her feet & got very choosy, a "cat " thin...

Re: Bella wont eat wet food.

I think her teeth are fine, the rescue centre did clean her teeth when she had some out, but I have thought of that & I might take her to the vet for a check up in the New Year, she does eat dry food but I think it goes straight down & doesn't get chewed. I gave her Gourmet pate last night &...

I am at a loss as to what to feed Bella, when we first had her (1st October) she loved Felix AGAIL, then went off that, so I bought sheba pouches, she loved those but after a few weeks she went off those, I bought her Applaws, she loved those but, yes, you guest it, she has now gone off that, I have...
