I found Cystophan was much cheaper online, I got a whole tub for what the vet charged for a weeks supply! I think I got them from VetUK.

Re: Lila's squamous cell carcinoma journey..
I've been through this recently and I know what a tortuous decision it is. Hector was battling with, what we thought was an ear infection, when after a couple of weeks he was getting worse not better we knew it was time for some further investigations, they showed he had a massive brain tumour that ...

Hi Suzy
Lovely to see you back even if it is under such distressing circumstances, I don't have anything useful to add but I hope Max is ok.

Re: Thomas & Mouse doing well..but...
I'd definitely introduce another tray somewhere, some cats are really particular about litter tray cleanliness and won't go if there's waste in there already. Whilst it sounds like he was just distressed about the fact the tray wasn't clean you don't want this to escalate into Cystitis.

Re: Chasing bunnies
I know I shouldn't but these did make me laugh!! Noodle has only caught 2 birds and a mouse, she makes such a racket that I know something is afoot. The first time she caught something it was a Blackbird :( between the bird and her they were making so much noise the neighbour came out to find me and...

Poor Barney, he's really having a miserable time of late. Hope the vet is able to do something a bit more permanent for lovely Barney, to give him (and you) some relief from this.

Re: Ooooops ...... one more foster!
Acrocat lives in a 3 storey townhouse opposite my house, everyday it leaps from the garden fence one storey up, through a Juliette balcony railing onto a small window/door ledge which is about 3 inches wide to get inside (there is a door downstairs!) and never misses!

Re: How animals deal with grief
I lost my much loved Hector recently, my other 3 didn't have the opportunity to say goodbye as he passed away at the vets but the following few weeks didn't go quite as I had predicted. Hector was the boss and Pip adored him, we adopted him as a companion for her when she was 12 weeks old and it bec...

Makes me mad that a genuine case where a cat needs help like this and the big rescues aren't interested. What area are you in?

Re: Cat Flu rescue?
I've got quite a lot of experience with cat flu. There are two main types of the cat flu virus, Herpes (FHV) and Calici (FCV), you can test for both but Herpes can give you a false negative so you may never know. I had a cat, Hector, that carried both viruses, he tested positive for Calici but negat...

Re: My baby has cancer and I'm a bit lost...
It's a terrible situation to find yourself in, I've been there myself very recently when Hector was diagnosed with a brain tumour. I opted for a palliative care over a very high risk operation (Hector was already not a well lad before the tumour), it was a decision I agonised over but now a few week...

Can't comment on the cat flap but yes to the Loc8tor! It's found Noodle shut in the neighbours garage twice now when she's snuck in, I can also track her down when I want her to come in for the night. It's not infallible but has given me peace of mind and 9 times out of 10 I've tracked her down. Jus...

Re: Sigh ....... another cat?
It's a difficult situation and not an easy one to answer, I understand they have to put the health of their child first. I have allergic asthma and was very allergic to cats when I was growing up, these days I'm ok with most cats, when a new cat arrives at home I start the anti-histamines and inhale...
