Arrggh!!! I think my cat has been stung by a bee! He has a little swollen area on his face. I touched it and he immediately groomed himself.
Anyone else had their cat stung by a bee? What did you do??

Try and get them out when she's eating or sleeping. If you have someone else who can help to hold her, while you groom?

Two days seems fine to me. I'd still use it. It would be different if it was a year old!

Re: Does fur colour change?
My brown tabby had a light brown line inbetween two black lines when he was a kitten. When he grew up the light brown line had gone and he had a solid black line down his back. I think fur markings will slightly change when the cat grows up.

licking castration wound
So I took my little one to the vets to get castrated. They said he didn't need a collar as he was fine with it.
When I got him home and after a feed, he was licking that area. Should I put a e-collar on him? Or is it okay to just leave it be.

Re: Kittens smell bad
Jane - the kittens are only 4 weeks old, so not only too young to neuter, but too young for their hormones to be creating a smell. It is common in hand-reared kittens to smell, as they don't have a mum to clean them - I would suggest wiping them down a couple of times a day with baby wipes. Ah yes,...

I've never come across a smelly kitten before.
There's a link here on what causes it and what you can do. Hope it helps.

If your cat was a human in a past life time...
... what would he/she have been?
I'll start.
My 6mth old cat chases and dribbles his ball toys and rummages through bins and takes out tissues to play with. So to me his past life as a human would have been a professional footballer, who lost all his money and then became homeless!

Re: Eye sick
From the picture it looks like he has something inside? Maybe an eyelash, grass seed or piece of dirt that acts as an irritant. If it continues, maybe take him to the vet to check the eye out. Could be a small cyst inside?

Yeah, I've washed something similar. I also popped it into the tumble dryer on synthetic cycle, LOW heat. Did the job.

Cod liver oil capsules makes the coat and skin lovely! Buy the pet one though as I think human ones are too strong.

A friend of mine had a long haired cat in Singapore. She always shaved her cat to keep it cool. I don't remember her having any issues when it grew back.

I leave mine downstairs in the kitchen and dining room. He has run of the place there at night time. He use to miaow when I closed the door for bedtime, but I just ignored him and went to bed. He settled and doesn't miaow anymore. I never gave him any attention at all. Good luck!

I need advice on their diet, at the moment they each get half a pouch of wet (over 50% meat) and a handful of dried (sensitive stomach) food in the morning and the same in the evening. Is this too much or about right? My kitten eats more than your cats. He has two pouches and a handful of dried foo...

Maybe try a cat sitting company? Neighbours can't help out?

Is he still spooked? It could be a smell? I picked up my kitten and stroked him and he scratched me and bolted out of my arms. Then I realised that I had, just a few minutes ago, peeled an orange!! Poor thing! Cats hate citrus smells!!

Your cats may be stressed. The program above has some solutions you could try.
Separation of beds and food bowls seem to work best.

12 minutes in.. about cat food.
Apparently, cats that eat more fish are exposed to higher levels of arsenic! Which is causing kidney problems

Re: Advice about renaming an unweaned kitten
No, I don't think you are being over protective. I would definitely not rehome if he hasn't been weaned, more concerned about the kittens welfare. And if I was the new owner I wouldn't want to accept a kitten not weaned as it would be such a big worry for me. At the moment he's happy to have mum's m...

I got my kittens to wean by mashing up some wet cat food and wiping it over their teeth. They licked it off and loved it!
