Re: cat peeing around the house...
Get another vets opinion too and just keep pestering them, the timing just doesn't seem right here at all!

Re: cat peeing around the house...
No, do not just let her off with it. How have you been training her? Have you tried water spray training or the 'no and down' training? Is she the only cat or are there others? Also getting her used to the carrier case will really help you, leave the out so that it's not associated with the vets. Ma...

Re: cat peeing around the house...
First of all, don't chase her off!
Second, have you mentioned this to the vet? If you haven't, get on the phone to your vet now. Even if you have, still phone and say that you are really struggling with it and you want her checked again.

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?
We rent too, my if it came between renting dream house and Comet, he'd win every time! Very few people own their homes now a days so it is very unfair to say no to all renters. Aw :) boys are great, I must say haha Comet is our first experience with a tom cat, we've both been raised with queens but ...

Re: New kittens - how far in the car?
So glad that you found a black and ginger in the same litter :) We went to meet Comet purely because he was black but once I met him his colour didn't matter and I just fell in love with him, he was also from a home breeder...her cats last litter before getting neutered. Personally I see no problem ...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
Thanks hunnybunny, the wet food is never there long :L plus Scotland doesn't get too warm in Summer so that shouldn't be a problem.
Will try him on chicken wings when his adult teeth come in.

Re: Hello from Becci&Comet in Edinburgh, Scotland!
Wow, he is absolutely gorgeous! I do love black cats. He's the dead spit of Mo, who was the love of my life and a complete handful. He was originally called Jet in the rescue centre. I soon found out this was not just because of his colour, he was jet propelled! By the look of him Comet has earned ...

Re: poorly kitten
Carix, this is so sad. I was really hoping that the little kitty would make it just long enough for vet intervention but sadly not. Sometimes, it is for the best though...the kitty was clearly very ill. How are the other four? Maybe it'd be best to get them all checked out to make sure that there is...

weird finger 'biting' and then licking
So comet has only just started to do this within the past day or two. He'll sniff mine of my partners fingers, then put his mouth around them, obviously leading to his teeth being around them but he doesn't bite or if he does it's not in a aggressive way, he then removes his mouth and starts to lick...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
Aw :) how old was your boy when you tried the finger brush? I have a feeling that my boy may give me that look lol It wasn't even the vet...it was the vet nurse! Then she started going on about preservatives in wet food and that is when my face went dead pan and she added in the..."of course i...

Re: So my girl is actually a boy...
I know that stupid feeling. I was told that Cookie was a girl so I adopted him from a colleague who didn't want him anymore. Three days and he finally comes out from under the bed and lets me stroke him; and erm...two 'lumps'. Oh $&!%. Panda, my other cat is a girl. They had introduced themselv...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
Mine are all older cats, and some are ex-strays (who came to me with perfect teeth), so I'm afraid i've no idea on younger cats! My OH likes to barbecue chicken wings, just bought from the supermarket raw, and I just nick one of his, cut it at the joints and give the bits to the cats on a washable ...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
I do give some of mine a raw chicken wing every few weeks, just to give their teeth a workout. Three of them go for it and three don't, though of the three that don't one is 19 and one has no teeth at all .... so it's hardly surprising ..... :D I would love to try my boy on raw chicken wings but no...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
Hi - same as you say, our old vet told us wet food leads to more dental problems. Although we feed a mix of wet and dry. Moogle likes to graze, so he gets breakfast wet, then all day dry is available, dinner wet when we're back from work, and dry thru the night. He did have dirty teeth and went for...

Re: Wet food and cats teeth
Two of our cats were fed dry food only for the first 9 years of their lives. They both had to have a couple of teeth removed during that time. About 8 years ago we switched them to a raw diet and since then they have both had to have a couple more teeth removed. Our vet said that some cats are pre-...

Wet food and cats teeth
So I know this is a bunch of rubbish but I was wondering if there was possibly a little truth in it... Zeus (maybe - name not fully decided) (otherwise known as Gaia) had his first vet check-up today and the vet nurse was talking to us about food and I said he was on a wet food only diet and she sai...
