Re: Elderly cat being sick often
Maybe try feeding him a spoonful at a time? It's good that he's eating though, lots of old cats struggle to eat enough so that's a good sign....if only it would stay down! x

Re: Elderly cat being sick often
Our Max was sick lots before his hyperthyroidism was diagnosed, but since you've had bloods done this should have been picked up. He also used to guzzel down his food and then throw it straight up again, we found large kibble pieces that he had to chew slowed him down and stopped this, is the new fo...

You could put a cat flap in your shed, that would save leaving the door ajar to tempt burglars.

Re: Vetbed for outside ferals
Straw is good too, it gets toasty warm if they get right into a big pile of it and it doesn't get damp like fabric bedding can. We have a dog kennel full of straw in our garden where our fear/stray lived last winter, she grew a huge winter coat as well! She doesn't seem to be using it this year thou...

Re: IKEA cat hacks...
We (well, hubby) made some litter boxes with Ikea kitchen cupboards turned on their side so the the door opens downwards towards the floor. There is enough room inside for a tray and a litter mat. They work really well and look much nicer than litter boxes. They are not quite as decorative as that u...

Re: Spraying Raid with cats in the house
Hello, I totally understand how you feel, I'm also very arachnophobic. When there isn't one there I realise this is totally irrational and that they do no harm and eat flies, but when I see one in my house, something comes over me and I'm afraid it's them or me. I do agree that the best weapon is mo...

There are two 10 year old three legged cats on a post further down, but bear in mind that lots of three-legged cats can still catch birds so it's something you need to check!

How sad, I'm sorry for your loss. There are some cruel people out there and it's just not right what they have done. I take it you have not had your, money back from the breeder, in which case doreport them. Also look up "Ragdoll cat club" and report them to them too, there will be a club i...

Re: Kitty puts my clothes in water and food dish!
One of our cats drown his prey (toys, leaves, stolen things) in his water bowl. Not sure if you can stop him but its probably a good idea to have another water bowl somewhere else that he can use when he's messed up that one. Apparently cats prefer their water to be not close to their food (somethin...

Re: Barney now allowed out and total change of character !
Our Jess is like that, when he is not in his cat run he is crying because we have shut him in (only on a night....when we can entice him in far enough to get to the door and shut it before he runs out again). Its nice that they like being out, but I known what you mean about missing them. I'm hoping...

Thanks for correcting me, the feral we found had them but everyone on here told me it was normal (obviously that was just for a feral kitten). It does look like these poor things are not getting properly looked after then.

Well spotted Kay, if you look in the Homes Offered section, there is someone in Hampshire wants an indoor cat. You could get in touch with them.

Oh I forgot, I think all kittens have worms so if this is the only problem just be careful! It sounds like it wasn't though. Good luck.

Re: i know of cruelty case but not sure what to do
Look up the RSPCA helpline number on google. Is your cat a moggy or a specific breed? If it's a breed also look up the breed clubs and report her. She probably doesn't belong to any but if she does they would hopefully strike her off making it more difficult to sell kittens. Also, if you are on Face...

At least Daz got to see her, I think that makes a massive difference. Animals, like people, have to deal with death and grief so they really do understand. You can't regret letting her out, she would have been unhappy in the house if she was used to going outside. The mice are obviously juicier on t...

Oh that's a shame when you had already found a cat to adopt. Try somewhere else, I'm amazed you got this response once, surely you won't get it again. About 8 years ago my boyfriend (now husband) adopted two cats from the Blue Cross. We were both in our early 30s and the subject of children was neve...

Surely a troll? If not how awful! I have never turned up at a cattery without the bail money. I'm interested to know what in this life it is acceptable to pay for later: Hotel rooms? Groceries? Dentist? Restaurant? Your own holiday? The taxi back from the airport (well how can they expect you to hav...

That's good advice Hazel - I just wish Bob would take it. Haha, yes, thinking about it I guess a lot depends on the cat! Max, especially as he got older, obviously preferred us to lift him down fom places rather than jumping as he would call out for us to come and get him.Maybe his other fron...

I had a 10 year old cat who had his front right leg removed due to osteosarcoma. We were also offered reconstructive surgery but were advised by the vet that amputation was a better option (I think to ensure the cancer was all removed). He was absolutely fine. He had outdoor access but after the fir...

Mama Cass is missing (I think)
I haven't seen Mama Cass for 3 days, she hasn't been eating the food we put out. Do you think something has happened to her or she is trapped somewhere, or do feral cats just wander off for a few days to eat birds and more exciting food than we put down? I'm not sure how I could find her if she is l...
