Re: Low white cell count
Again - thanks for your support - I really appreciate this forum at times of worry. Vet just rang. Xrays look ok - nothing obvious. This is a relief but it really doesn't take us any further forward. She is still going to keep him in to get him stabilised and hopefully eating - as you say Ria, hopef...

Re: Low white cell count
Thanks for your support.
Just dropped Henry off.
He is having x-rays/scans to see if they can work out what is going on.
He is likely to be kept in overnight on a drip to get some fluids/nutrients etc.
He looked so sad being left there x

Re: Low white cell count
Henry really is unwell.
He has not eaten anything last night or this morning. He is very lethargic.
It's back to the vets this morning for him
Fingers crossed please

Low white cell count
Henry has been out of sorts for a week or so. He's been sick quite a few times, and has been off his food for the past day or two He has been to the vets twice. First time they gave an anti nausea injection. Today they also did bloods. All organs ok. Pancreas ok. White blood count a bit low. Vet sus...

Re: Mr Grey caught a robin
We've had loads of mice and vole innards around the place. Better get vigilant with the workers I think
Ps most are caught by Henry and Tips. I think Squeak hung up her hunting head when she came to live with us, and Grey really is generally a poor hunter

Mr Grey caught a robin
I don't like my gang catching birds. However, this is the first catch I have ever known him to make. He is a tad over weight and not that bright. I am slightly pleased and proud of him

Re: Urgent advice needed for cat who was blinded yesterday
My cat Tips has been blind for nearly eight years. She copes amazingly well. Initially, I would keep your boy in one room with a tray and food. Talk to him. Slowly reintroduce him to your home by calling him and staying with him. I "show"'things to Tips by tapping them. I use this method i...

Re: coping with blindness
My Tips has been blind since she was about 6 months old although she had sight when she was younger. The vet thinks that she has no sight at all. She is nearly eight now. She copes remarkably well. She had access to a secure garden, where she spends a lot of time listening to birds and other creatur...

Re: TRY AGAIN FOR ADVICE !!!
Hi Jule If Barney is confident enough, on a nice day I would open the door and go into the garden myself. Act fairly normally (ie don't appear to make an issue of it). From my experience they don't venture far at first and regularly run back in. We have cat proofed our large garden so we know they a...

Re: Nee kitten. is it indoor or outdoor cat?
We have a blind cat. She, and her housemates have access to a large, cat proof garden.
I have lost 2 cats to traffic over a 15 year period and feel that our current arrangement is the best compromise for the cats to behave normally and for us to have piece of mind.

Re: The wacky things we do for our cats...
Feeding time at the zoo has to be ours! Where do I start!? Henry and Grey are greedy and we have to watch their weights. Tips is a picky eater Squeak likes to get your attention while she eats. So.......... Tips is fed on the landing. Anything she doesn't eat goes into the shower cubicle to graze on...

Re: Ultimate cat toy suggestions?
A lot depends on the cat, but all of mine like play cubes and feathers/sticks.
Da bird is very popular, but mine prefer the mouse version.
TBH you could spend a small fortune on toys, which initially are popular but cats being cats soon get bored with

Welcome Peanuts Friend. This (if our old forum is anything to go by) is a great place to be!
Most of us are regulars who feel we know each other and each other's cats. We look forward to getting to know you and your kitties.
Lovely cat in your profile picture BTW. Which one is that
