Re: Buying a cat from a breeder

Just for information, Pedigrees do find themselves in regular rescue centres sometimes, but rarely kittens - nearly always it is adult pedigrees in rescue. But for those who will only consider a particular breed, they could consider an adult, or even a 'young adult'. There is a list of specialist pe...

Re: Should I report my neighbours to the RSPCA?

The best thing to do in cases of welfare issues is to lodge your concerns with the RSPCA’s cruelty and advice line. Describe the circumstances and they will be able to advise if it warrants an inspector’s visit. The number is: 0300 1234 999, and your call will be kept confidential.

Re: need help getting rid of cat urine

I had a problem with one of my fosters peeing. Like joolie75 I also used vinegar, it was white vinegar which I used and a spray bottle also. It did get rid of the smell thankfully! I can totally sympathise with you though, I tried everything I knew of including biological washpowder and various pet ...

I am so sorry (((hugs))) to you and your girl. I presume you've discussed with your vet and been told there's nothing they can do to help her? if so, then although it's the hardest thing, I know, it is also the kindest thing to save your little girl's suffering. I just really wanted to say take care...

Re: Sore That Won't Heal - Out Of Ideas

Poor Hector, another thing you could try if the aloe vera doesn't work is a good Manuka honey, if you've not already tried that? I use it on wounds and when we adopted our last cat, she was from a rescue at a vets and the vets there were treating one of the cats who was awaiting a home, with the hon...

Hi, it's good of you to care about this cat. Have you seen the found cat advice here: http://www.catchat.org/lost.html#found" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; If you can handle the cat it would be helpful if you can take the cat to a vet so that they can check for a microchip....

Hi Obaidi,

Milk doesn't go down well with most cats as most are intolerant it will upset their tummies. Can you get in touch with a vet ASAP so that they you can explain and advise what to do in this situation. Hopefully other forum users will be along to help but that would be my advice to you.

Re: new FIV owner & Gingivitis

One of my cats had terrible gums described as 'like raw liver', like Julia's cats he wasn't FIV either, (although the vet was very surprised due to the state of his mouth and other issues) but was in his teens when we adopted him. After trying all treatments including abs, mouthwashes, me scraping t...

Re: I could really use help and advice on further dealing w

I wonder whether leaving the tap just dripping for a while would help? I've also found some cats like water fountains, or 'their own mug' left on the floor with some water in is really tempting for many cats over their water dish! Those things worked for my crf cats, although I never had to syringe ...

Re: My little cat died suddenly last sunday

We haven't adopted another cat since, so it's been a long time, initially I just needed time, that was just my personal choice . We do care for some ferals though so we've not been without feline company even though it's just outside. We were going to adopt another oldie but we decided to have a hol...

Re: My little cat died suddenly last sunday

Hi, it was April last year and my old girl hadn't been out all winter and it was a lovely day. She went missing and we found her the following morning in the allotments just behind our garden, but didn't know what had happened. That's when I went to my vets to to discuss with them because I just wan...

I am so sorry for your loss ((hugs)). I get this a lot with my foster cats initially. I agree with the ignoring, after a week or so my latest foster cat has settled now and this morning didn't even get out of her bed when I got up! I also make sure there's some food down usually give them some wet food and leave biscuits to nibble on th...

Hi Notjustcat, I've not been following your story so I don't know the ins and outs here. Hi, Scatty's right - in many cases this rule is very often due to the landlord's concern about pets ruining their carpets or furnishings. However, there is lots of advice and information here which may help you persuade the landlord otherwise: http://www.letswithpets.org.uk" onclick="windo...

I think I would agree with Camdengirl, I would do all I could and you never know..if you don't you may regret it. I am not in your position though so if you're really unsure, I ask my vet what they would do if it were their cat.

Please give your little chap a gentle snuggle from me xx

Hi, I would get in touch with a local rescue such as Cats Protection asap. I've contacted them for the loan of a trap and I would think they'd be best to advise if trapping is difficult as they have lots of experience. If they can't help try other local rescues. Best of luck.

Hi, I've not read all the thread and don't know much about the background of this, but it sounds like you've posted before? anyway reading your first post I was wondering whether you've tried adding some soil to the litter tray to encourage your cat use it? that sometimes can help if the cat is used...
