Re: Behaviour after abortion and neutering
Hi & welcome
I don't have an experience with this, is it inflamed, red or hot? Or is it causing any discomfort if you touch that area?
I would imagine it will settle down in time but maybe put a call into the vet to see if it's normal.

Can't quite bring myself to call him Greebo... We called the horrible kids at school Greebo (I know, we were kids...).
Keeping everything crossed for the poor lad, hopefully they'll be able to get cracking on him today and he'll soon be home x

Re: Anyone have a cat on long-term steroids?
Hector was on a low dose of Pred for the last 5-6 years, at the time the vet told me cats tolerate steroids better than dogs and humans. Regular blood tests showed his body coped well with them and as you know he died of something completely unrelated. He was on them for chronic rhinitis and IBD and...

Re: RSPCA
I know a lot of the RSPCA branches do good but yours is an all too familiar story, seems they only want to get involved in cruelty cases. But without people like you looking out for them there would be a lot of suffering in the cat world so you absolutely did the right thing and a lesson learned jus...

Re: Huge dental, sneezing, vetergesic and calicivirus
Both mine were on Antirobe for a week before the op, it helped calm the gums down and they continued for about 10 days afterwards. When I took them back for their post op checks their gums looked so much better and there was no food stuck in the holes, in fact most of the holes were almost closed by...

What about putting something smelling of you, like an old jumper, in her bed so she feels close to you?

Re: Huge dental, sneezing, vetergesic and calicivirus
I've got two cats with this same condition and I opted for total extractions straight off, neither of them had stitches (I was told the mouth heals quickly so stitches weren't necessary), my guys both had Metacam and Antirobe for a few days after and this seemed to work well. It's possible the stres...

So sorry Sally, don't beat yourself up, as you rightly said it would have been cruel to keep her going and she probably would have been miserable knowing how clean cats are. Sad for her babies and for you but kindest for her.

Great update Helen, poor lad must have been frozen with fear. As Mark says baby steps will ensure Stinky Fred turns the corner and realises that us humans are a push over and the source of lots of good stuff (excluding eye drops!)

Re: Fatty Fatty 4x4!
Like Helen I had to monitor meal times and there's no free feeding in our house. I had one on a diet, one on a prescription diet and one with medication in his food at one point so monitoring was the only way to ensure each furry ate only their own food. It's a long process, it took me the best part...

Glad Max is home, I always let mine in together when they come home, I figure it's less stressful but I do have a boisterous chap so have be on guard. Would he be more comfortable in something like a comfy collar? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Thrive-BCC2-Comfy-Collar-Small/dp/B003XL874E/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-...
