Millie and her digestive system again

Oh dear, getting a bit desperate here! Millie's liver enzyme levels have fallen significantly, so the vet thinks she probably ate something toxic and that her liver is recovering. However, she now doesn't seem to be able to keep any food down. In fact, over the last three or four days she has lost h...

Re: feline asthma

I absolutely agree. You posted on 1 July first of all, and it's now nearly two weeks later. That is plenty of time for the antibiotics to kick in, and if he is still wheezing, then he really does need go to back to the vet.

Re: feline asthma

My old cat Fred had feline asthma, which we successfully kept under control for about three years until he died (of something completely unrelated to the asthma). We had him on a twice a day regime of inhalers (Fluoxetine/Flixotide from memory), which was fine. However, he was a particularly tactile...

Re: Possible liver problems

All her other results were in normal ranges, including thyroid. Just the liver enzymes.

Possible liver problems

Soooo... following on from the allergy question. About two weeks ago Millie became quite quiet. Stopped playing, stopped sitting on my lap in the evening. Still purrs and likes a fuss though (always on her terms, obviously). She is at the tail end of a steroid jab for the allergies, so she is still ...

Re: Best kitty hug ever!

This is exactly what our Fred used to do. People never believed us until they'd seen him do it! Still miss him four years on...

Re: Cat has allergies, don't know what to do

PS Sorry to hear about your vet, it's so hard when a good one moves on. Presumably yours is moving too far for you to follow? Maybe someone on here can recommend a good vet near you. Actually, he doesn't have another job to go to... Practice was taken over by another company who have been pretty gr...

Re: Cat has allergies, don't know what to do

So - I think I may try different, grain free food again. She prefers dry to wet, although I prefer to give a mixture of both. I have some Almo which I can start with. I know of HiLife, Bozita and Butchers. Any other ideas anyone? No fish, obviously. Have just heard that our lovely vet is leaving and...

Re: Cat has allergies, don't know what to do

Yes, tried Piriton, but it didn't work! and I think you also sent me some other food that we tried her with. She liked the sample, but when I bought a bag of it, turned her nose up...

Re: Cat has allergies, don't know what to do

Thanks Sarah. We eliminated fish from her diet because that did seem to make her worse. I had her on HiLife chicken pouches for a couple of weeks, but that didn't seem to make much difference. We also had Hills ZD (I think) for a month or so. Same story. It's horrible to watch, isn't it. She just go...

Cat has allergies, don't know what to do

At least, we assume it's allergies - and my apologies because this might be a bit of a long post. Ever since we got Millie last July, she has had problems of one sort or another. One of the most lasting is the frantic itching/grooming/scratching. She has been having a steroid jab about once every fi...

Re: cats and TB

Meriad, it is bovine TB that the cats have been passing on (as have the badgers).

According to the news the cats that passed on the disease were recognisably very sick, so I guess it's worth checking the symptoms of TB in cats.
