Re: Which food do you use?
I've read a lot about cats not needing dry food at all, that they should only eat wet. There's so much differing information out there it gets confusing! One idea I quite like is to mix Kevin's dry food in with wet so we can control how much dry he eats. My husband has bought some Lidl premium dry f...

Re: Which food do you use?
we currently feed our cats Tesco finest wet food in gravy. Our eldest Molly is very, very fussy and won't go near fish or poultry foods, even fresh fish and chicken gets turned away. She also won't touch food in jelly. However, give her beef, lamb or duck and she gobbles it up! Tesco is the only bra...

Oh no! I'd be beside myself if Molly didn't come home. We don't let Kevin out yet, he's just turned 6 months and I don't think il ever be ready to let him out!

Adorable!! Especially the bear photo
There are a lot of black cats on here (mine are Molly and Kevin) I think we're all just suckers for a cute kitty! My husband and I adopted ours after the media outcry about nobody adopting black cats.

Re: Are they just playing?
Play is definitely getting rougher! They go for one another, end up in a ball but they're now pulling fluff out and meowing while they tumble! I don't know how this naturally ends as we seperate them when they do it as it sounds like at least one of them isn't enjoying it! But then Kevin will lay on...

Re: Downside to living in the country ....
We just have lots of feisty foxes! We're kind of on the edge of a town and the country, on a fairly main road which thankfully Molly has the sense not to go near. But over the road is allotments and then fields, fields and more fields! My parents have shooting near their house; a few years ago they ...

Re: What are they looking at??
Yes same wall. Our house is over 100 years old so it's quite possible its a house noise, but they've only just started doing it.

What are they looking at??
The last few days both our cats have started jumping on the back of the sofa looking high up on the walls. Our older girl even chatters like she's watching birds but there's nothing there? No light reflections or cobwebs (I checked), it's weirding me out a bit! I thought maybe they could hear rain o...

Re: Older cat and new kitten cat flap issues
I've just googled it, and I think the dualscan is only available online here.
I do use ebay so I'll stick it on there when we take it out. (Of course my OH installed it before checking it worked and was actually what we wanted!!!!!)

Re: Older cat and new kitten cat flap issues
That's what we're going to get I think. Wish we'd known beforehand, we got it from the pdsa so I feel bad asking for our money back from a charity! Oh well, expensive lesson learned!
Out of interest does anyone know of any shops that sell these rather than online?

Re: Older cat and new kitten cat flap issues
I was literally about to start a thread on the same thing! Our older cat uses our manual flap 24/7. We have a now 5 month old kitten who we've previoysly kept in the living room overnight. However they are now crying to get to each other at night so we bought a microchip catflap so he could have the...

Re: cat sitter or cattery ??
I think whichever choice you make the most important is what's best for your kitties, and personally I would want someone happy to update me frequently. We put Molly in a cattery for the first time last year, and I was so worried I was literally emailing the owner every day while we were away. She s...

Re: Adult food?
That's great advice, thanks! My mum said pretty much the same about my childhood cats, we had a mother and 5 week old son for my 5th birthday, mum said when he was weaned he went onto 'normal' food as there wasn't kitten food 25 years ago! He's pretty much only eating her food now and seems to be do...

Adult food?
Our kitten Kevin is 5 months old. We currently feed him kitten Iams dry food, and Tesco kitten food in gravy. We feed our older cat Molly the adult versions of these. Kevin will eat Molly's food rather than his own at any opportunity. We thought it was because we were feeding him in a different room...

Re: cat sitter or cattery ??
I personally am an advocate of catteries, but that's because we have a brilliant one near us. Spacious, light, clean and very friendly staff. I guess I just don't like the idea of a stranger in the house, and I know at the cattery they look after the cats well and feed them exactly what we want. I w...

Re: Photos!!
Just had to share this! We've just shut Kevin in the living room for the night with all his stuff so we can open the catflap for her overnight, and they're sat on either side of the door putting paws through to each other and passing toys through! Too cute!

Molly does that too! She twists right over and falls asleep. How can it be comfy! Kevin's only just started laying on his back in the last few weeks, he likes to stretch out as much as possible while he's asleep!

Not TMI, we've all been there! I've purposely started leaving old fleeces around the house, they both seem to love it and I regularly look for them and find them curled up on an old jumper. Molly loves our dining room table, she gets very grumpy if there's a lot of stuff on there; how very dare we! ...

Re: Photos!!
Nellie is gorgeous; that tongue! Molly often falls asleep with her tongue out, it's all I can do not to scoop her up and squidge her! She hates being picked up though, and squeals if we try! She doesn't like being fussed at all unless it's on her terms.
