Re: cat books for the novice

Gee I think I would like the streetcat book. My nephew needs a base to understanding his cats so he can talk to them on their level. One of his cats is deaf and is shy with it. What I tell him is small compared to what he needs to know. I don't think he can come online to come here. His mother(my si...

Re: cat books for the novice

Oh well, no gift ideas for my nephew. He is 12 and loves cats. Owns 2 of his own. His mother is a dog person. I just wanted to give him something that would last thru his life. Thank you Jan for your suggestion, I will tell him about that web site.

cat books for the novice

What book about cats would you give somebody for a gift? A book about why cats do the things they do. Behaveral wise. Not feeding and litterpans so much. More about all the things you need to know to keeping cats happy and healthy, I guess that would be about food too  .... and litter.... I me...

Anything you put on that paw will be licked away. It will heal on its own if it doesn't get infected. Which it won't if Comet takes care of it.

Re: Cat gone off dry food

If he was my cat I would think the teeth cleaning hurt him in some way. weather it is emotional or physical.
Some cat owners say it is better a cat doesn't eat dry food or hard things anyway. Most of the ingredients are not what a cat eat naturally.
Maybe in time he will eat the dry food.

Re: Alternative senior food - any suggestions?

I am not sure if it is the right thing to do. But with my Meuzette she lived a long time on Purinas ONE Kitten food. But she had a jaw problem too so chewing was difficult.
Some times for a treat baby food.

Re: help me save my Caz

Caz is going on carpet in the hallway. Two spots are his favs. I don't think anyone could get Caz litter trained so it would be more unfair to him to be put in the system. I love him enough not to want him to suffer. Dont worry I am not giving up on him quite yet. I am going to try a shallow tray wi...

help me save my Caz

My home life may change. My Mom has Alzhiemers and I must take care of her. My Caz's days are numbered. He doesn't use a litterbox. That is not ok for anyone else but me. I love him more than my home. He is the only one of the three kittens I took in seven years ago that does this trick. I tryed cha...

My old cats eat the buds.
The young cats play and roll on it.
A healing herb book said it helps their tummies when the eat catnip.
Good for you too, have it in tea. I never did. Sounds not right. The guilt alone would get me.

Re: Cat Grass ?

My cats have grass from outside as well. We grow it in the winter for tummies.
Catnip plant is growing outside but I can't keep it over winter so it is dryed stuff for them then. Catnip is good for tummies too.

cat toys

Don't you think it is fasenating that cats love the home made toys the best to play with. I look around the valley of bought toys. My Peanut plays with the rain water that I bring in the house in a old litter bucket. He leans on the lip of the bucket with his arm pit and paddles the water. His feet ...

Oh yeah I forgot about the nueting thing. The coats in our cats today are prettier and shinnier. I was conserned about the bone structure. My last cat didn't get neutered until he was a full year old plus a few months. Maybe that is why he is big and bulky in stature. I thought it was the vitamins. ...

Cat types

I was looking through one of my old cat books. The pictures of cats are from the fifties. I noticed the cats looked bigger boned and larger than the cats I seen recently.
Do you think cats bodies have changed over the years?

Re: They can spot a flea treatment a mile off!

you have to stratagize at my house. Get Cowboy first for you won't be able to catch him if he knows you have that drop stuff. I hate Frontline. But you can buy the large dog size and you can do all eight cats. Avantage works better, but you have to have the kind for cats. There is less to play with....

I am glad Mama Cass came back .Maybe she was playing with kittens in the neighborhood???
Meuzette use to do that and be gone for days. She always brought back a kill for the others when she came back. That was in her younger days.
Anyway it must of been a wondering kind of day for Mama Cass
