I'd ring your vets for advice, it could be the gabapentin.

Re: Vibes for Elvis please

Sorry for not updating this, fortunately it wasn't ringworm as while it is easily treated it prevents a fosterer for fostering for months. Picked him up Tue, he's also quite underweight but so lovely and affectionate

Re: My cat is rejecting me.... any help?

Sadly, paying a lot of money doesn't mean they will get a good home - I contacted a pedigree rescue once for help with a stray Manx cat who we were struggling to home, they dealt with 250 cats a year - at the time the moggie rescue I was fostering for dealt with 80! Sadly long haired breeds end up i...

You will probably find it is her hormones and neutering her may help - not just her behaviour, but there are health benefits to neutering.

Vibes for Elvis please

Picked up a cat on thu who the owner had described as having some round scabs, turned out to be an understatement, poor thing is practically bald and even has scabs on his paws  the vet is fairly sure it's severe flea dermatitis but can't rule out ringworm so is keeping him till tue when the re...

Location would be helpful. Honestly, if she's been a pet cat all her life, I wouldn't look for a farm home at her age

Re: Tooth resorption pain, elderly cat

I agree with Ria, I would speak to a second vet - raised Creatnine can be a sign of infection, so the levels could be high just because she has dental issues. I've had much older and poorlier cats go through dentals, as long as they do fluids, it does reduce the risk. I can't see how the tooth can r...

Why don't you book Kala in at 5 months and say she's had her first heat?

I'd very much doubt ringworm, they look more like scabs. When was she last at the groomer?

Re: Milla had her kittens

Breast cancer isn't the only reason to neuter females, the earlier risk is pyometra, which is a womb infection that can be fatal if not picked up soon enough, and the only cure is neutering but it's higher risk when they have it. I do appreciate it's hard with vet standards

Personally I'd get them vet checked, in case this is due to an infection. What are you using to disinfect the surfaces?

I'd take her to the vet, have full bloods, blood pressure and hearing checked, there are health issues that can cause excessive vocalisation

thank you. i will see if anyone can lend me a cage, would it be the same size as a small dog cage? or bigger so he can move about a little? A small dog cage would be ideal. They adapt better with back leg than front. I remember a neighbour telling me pebbles was walking funny, he hadn't even notice...

Re: Kidney Disease Diagnosis for my Cat...what should I feed her on?

Glad the vet is happy with her, I would go back in 6 weeks as it's early stages and he will want to check before giving more meds. The generic version of fortekor is benazecare, you still need a prescription which vets do charge for

Re: 3 legged cat advice please

I had a cat who had to have her back leg amputated at the age of 11, she adapted very well, and I didn't keep her in, as she could outrun me even with only 3 legs. IF he isn't used to using a litter tray, I'd get some soil to mix with a gravel type litter, maybe get a small bag of a couple of other ...

Spraying depends on what age he is neutered, and if you get Milla neutered, as her coming into heat will affect him

There was someone on the old forum who's cat had high titres, and made a full recovery, I cant' remember how long it was till she was re-tested - they could have it with one having neurological issues, although hard to say if they are FIP related, or the abuse they have suffered. Hopefully they don'...
