Re: Cheyenne lost 9th October
Hi nannymcfee. That is very good advice. Unfortunately living as I do on a large housing estate she could have gone in many directions. All of the houses have enclosed back gardens thus making it impossible to know which ones may have cat flaps. Even the empty ones. I've done the flyer/Facebook bit....

Crewella I am so sorry to read of the passing of Little Minnie. Even more so that you had taken the time to respond to my post, knowing that you yourself were approaching this sad time. Blessings to you all. RIP Minnie.

Re: Cheyenne lost 9th October
Hi Jacks Your posts regarding Cheyenne during the year + I had her, have been a great inspiration to me. I also take comfort from the support I have received from two other wonderful CC members who converse with me elsewhere especially in my maudlin moments. My biggest worry is that Cheyenne may be ...

Re: Cheyenne lost 9th October
Although not positive for Cheyenne but in response to my lost notices that I have put about. I have had a number of calls from people spotting black cats. I got a call late last night from a gentleman who had a black cat that had been in his garden for several days and was now in his garage. It was ...

Re: Cheyenne lost 9th October
Thank you furbies for your kind words of support. I am trying to stay positive but as the days go by the light at the end of the tunnel becomes dimmer. I am plagued by thoughts of what if. One very special furby who has been helping me with this has told me to stop beating myself up about it and I a...

Re: Cosmic - Passed away 19/09/14
Hi Jo. I lost my 16 year old (Rudi) a female a year ago this month. The heartbreak in the weeks after her passing was almost unbearable. I eventually gave a rescue cat a home (that's her in the photo). But not a day goes by that I don't think of Rudi. The heart ache will ease with time but the good ...

Hi Tricia B. I had two cats that pawed their jaw when eating and on both occasions it was a tooth problem. Perhaps you should get a second opinion.

Animal Communicator
First apologies to Julie and Barney as this is a spin off from their post. Sarah T1 mentioned animal communicators. Is there such a person in the UK?. Although Cheyenne has come a long way in her first year with me. We are still quite far apart in the bonding process. However, that said, I am sure m...

Hi Julie and Barney. Well if it was the ice bucket challenge just hope he doesn't nominate you and hubby for it. I'm sure Barney will be fine. How nice to see how much you care for him. What a lucky boy he is to have been adopted by you and hubby.

Please take Twitch to a vet ASAP to be on the safe side. Twitch hiding in a bolt hole after a fall is not a good sign. Please keep us up dated. Luv to Twitch.

Re: Barney now allowed out and total change of character !
Hi Julie & Barney it sounds like he has got a slight touch of what Cheyenne has lots of. I am sure you are aware that bonding with Cheyenne has as yet, to get off the ground. Once she found the great outdoors that is where she wanted to spend most all of her time. At least Barney comes in at Cur...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Thanks for that thoughtful response Kay and Sarah. I know that getting another furry would fill that missing bonding which is non existent with Cheyenne and me. However I would rather continue to concentrate all of my efforts to bring her round. As you may gather, Cheyenne is in her element and as s...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Hi Kay. How kind of you to inquire about Cheyennes' well being. Well I had always been given the impression that cats like their routine. However Cheyenne seems to be an exception. During this hot spell she has abandoned her shed and cupboard and now lives in some bushes beyond my garden perimeter. ...

Re: GOING ON HOLIDAY SOON - BARNEY ALONE CARED FOR BY IN LAW
Hi Julie. It was good to hear Barney returned. Cheyenne, my most of the time wanderer always returns. It knows where it's best off. Unlike Barney affection is not on her priority list. When not wandering I can normally find her in an upstairs cupboard or in the garden shed. I think Barney will be o ...

Re: Settling in - nervous rescue cat
Hi Jolene i thought my 4 year old rescue cat Cheyenne ( so named for obvious reasons) was a one off nervous. Like you I restricted her to one room. She only came out at night, spending most of her time in a carry case she felt most comfortable in (her bolt hole). I tried felliway, reading to her, gi...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Hi Walesgang. I have had no problems with any of the comments made by anyone who responds. As long as they are in Cheyennes best interest that is the main thing. As far as I can see all the input has been in that direction. Cheyenne has spent this weekend in her cupboard due I think to the wet weath...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
How kind of you to ask Julie. Well, she was settled into her living in her shed and coming in for meals routine. However, last night she spent the night in the cupboard that she used to call home. That may be because it was a little chilly last outside last night. Or was it because of the feral cat ...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Hi Sarah. She doesn't come outdoors to chill but seems to prefer the comfort of her shed and sheep skin rug. But she did come in at her normal breakfast time and even allowed me to approach her while she was eating. But not too close mind. We will prevail. Also thanks Julie and Barney for your kind ...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL

Also I have stack boxes, shelves and scratch poles in various places around the house but again she shows no interest in ...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Hi Walesgang Just a brief recap. She was a rescue from an RSPCA centre. Actual history unknown, but scared of everything. I have had her 8 months. For the first three months I restricted her to one room albeit open plan. Then she got outside one day but came back that evening, so I took to letting h...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL
Well having left the shed door slightly ajar and having put a sheep skin rug in there early this morning. I had a look in there at midday. Lo and behold there she was stretched out with not a care in the world. Although not quite what Sarah had in mind (a Mr Snugs kennel). However any port in a stor...

Thanks for the collar advice Meriad. Unfortunately she won't let me get within 10 foot of her let alone put a collar on her. But it is good to know that there are other wandering cats out there.
