Re: help please for my moms 21 year old cat . . So sad

this is very sad - Molly isn't going to be around much longer, even if she gets over her current problems will your Dad take to another cat quite quickly? if so, I should start looking for a suitable older puss now, so you can get him involved as soon after Molly's passing as he will be able to cope...

Re: My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

she certainly looks like a long-haired Russian in that photo

I hope for your sake she has the laid-back attitude of one too - I have had my Trigger 13 years and he has never bitten or scratched me, even when a kitten, and is a total - well, pussycat! - at the vets

Re: Poor cat is locked inside a garage :(

you'll need to be sure she's in when they shut their garage for the last time before setting sail

I don't like cats going into garages though, because of the threat of them getting to some anti-freeze - perhaps you could ask this couple to make sure any they have is totally inaccessible

Re: My Ragdoll x Russian Blue

Russians are tall cats, with long legs and slim long bodies - mine is a bag of bones but still weighs 4.7k

so add in the fur and solidity of a Ragdoll and I reckon you are going to need a heck of a strong carrier quite soon

what is he actually going on then? wooden floor, carpet, vinyl flooring?

have you tried laying down puppy pads or newspaper direct on the floor? what about sand in a plastic crate, with part of a side cut down to allow easy access? most cats love digging in sand, as many a builder has discovered

I can well understand how you feel - but at least you know where she is and she won't come to any harm overnight

I don't understand how anyone can ignore a knocking at the door - it could have been an important message for them - but let's hope they get up early, 'cos I bet you will

I note Grau list yeast as an ingredient in their FLUTD paste, in addition to vegetable by-products, so I think it same to assume the herbal paste doesn't contain yeast here's Grau's German website, complete with email details - http://www.grau-tiernahrung.de/products/grau_home.asp?mid=56" oncli...

why not put the harness and lead on him and bring him outside while you sit down - that way he can move around a bit and get used to the harness, but not run off trying to walk him on it can follow later when he's used to it if you can sit very near the open back door he will also have the option of...

it's oat or wheat seeds, and you can buy them very cheaply on EBay I grow it through the winter, but during the summer I cut grass from the verge for them and they seem to prefer it - the new shoots of couch grass are the favourite - they like eating it from my hand rather than from the ground mind ...

I think it depends on whether you would ever be able to have a say in their FIV policy - if it were me I would work there for long enough to find out what other people think, and to suss out whether there is any chance of the shelter bosses having a rethink

you must have a lot to sort out at the moment, and as you will have to keep your boy indoors for at least two weeks in the new accommodation, I wonder if it would be better to put him in a good cattery for a week or so, while you sort yourselves out

I would presume the insurers would pick up the tab
