Re: We Have a Bin Thief..

I get this in the summer. Both of my cats raid my neighbours BBQs. If they leave meat cooking unattended, one or both of my rascals steal whatever they can get. They've had steak, chicken legs, salmon, prawns, sausages, ice cream and cheese. They seem to bring it home for me as a special treat. I tr...

Re: UTI?

I feel for you. I really do. In January Midnight got cystitis. He was admitted to cat hospital and was catheterised 5 times. It was awful and I cried and cried. The vet suggested he might be better put to sleep. Eventually he had a penis removal and is now functionally a girl. He is back to his old ...

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!

It's been a long ten days. Midnight should have been discharged from hospital last night but he was still not peeing. They kept him in and put another catheter into this bladder. For this first time, of his four catheterisations, he managed to pull it out. As he peed, they allowed him home and he is...

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!

An update. This morning they removed the catheter and soon afterwards Midnight peed on his bedding! They have been waiting for him to perform again and he's just peed in the cat litter. There's no blood. His bladder is small so he is managing to completely empty out. He's eating and being friendly. ...

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!

Thank you for your advice. I will write this down and speak to the vet tomorrow. I called at half past five for an update. He's stopped eating the cd diet so they've had to give him something else but they didn't say what. He is less settled than he was. I just hope this isn't going to stress him ou...

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!

Thank you all for wise words. I am prepared to try anything. Midnight has been, since Saturday, on Hills cd for urinary tract problems packets. Prior to that we was on Applas salmon and chicken dried food. He was drinking well. He is slightly overweight. I have been advised he should lose 500g to ge...

Re: Advice, thoughts, prayers!

What's a PU? The update this morning is that they are leaving the catheter in until tomorrow morning. He is eating well, grooming and allowing nurses to tickle his stomach! I have been searching the internet and think I might give him unsweetened concentrated cranberry juice in small quantities in f...

Advice, thoughts, prayers!

I have two cats from the same litter. The neutered male (Midnight) has always been very shy. He loves me and my son but is less fond on my daughter and fights horribly with the other cat(Magic). He has always been fit and well without any health issues. This changed at the end of November. We had to...

Re: Kitty

My lovely cat Magic has had similar symptoms. She started to lose fur from her 'wrist to elbow' then her bottom. When I looked at her stomach there was no fur there at all. I took her to see the vet and eventually it was determined she had an allergy but they had no idea what was causing it. We chan...

Cat not washing properly

I have two cats. Midnight (male, neutered, 7 years old) has medium length fur. Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed it is matted over his lower back and top of his legs. I've brushed him rigorously in the garden to try to sort out the tats but it has had little effect. It's like mini dreadlock...

Re: One cat bullies the other while we are not looking

I have the same problem. My cats are also brother and sister and he is dominant. She is not allowed on the sofa and he gets very bad tempered if I show her any attention. They have had some mega fights. I tried Feliway (or whatever it's called) but it had no effect. I try to keep them out of the hou...
