Re: Cat chew toy ideas for an annoyed teacher

I once had a cat ( Siamese of course ..) who adored emery boards...couldn't get enough of them...maybe it was the texture in their mouths or on their teeth??

Re: Strange random chewing movements when not eating?

I suspect a loose tooth that has gone skewif in the jaw...one of my cats had that a few years ago..if they bite on a biscuit or such with a loose tooth it can dislodge it enough and make it hang at a funny angle so they mouthe a lot to try and get rid of it. The ligatures on the tooth will keep it i...

Could he have a neurological problem with his spine at the base of the tail????
That might explain his reluctance ( or inability) to raise his tail too far..maybe an old injury?

Re: Flea options

Hi all...My cats for the last 10 odd years have had Program injections and have never had flea problems..so I swear by it. I get a reminder every 6 months from the vet when it's due. So much better than those awful drops on the back of the neck which I've never been able to administer properly as ca...

Re: Claws....to clip or not to clip!

I have always trimmed my cats claws when they get a bit too long and too razor sharp..you usually know when they are too long as they catch them on clothing and carpets etc...I use a small nail clipper ( the parallel closing type) does them no harm and as the chat says you can see the quick and you'...

Re: Is my cat litter a scam, or is my cat just smelly?

My two new boys. (Thomas & Mouse have been with us 9 weeks now) They have a litter tray each in the Conservatory so smells are a big deal for me as it's used all year round as a second lounge..... I have found Felight from Tescos very good..I think it's a Bob Martin product , as these two can pe...

Re: Anyone have a cat on long-term steroids?

My beloved Bailey had IBD after his colon was removed (due to megacolon ) he did very well on a diet exclusively of Hills Z/D. It is hydrolised protein which is better digested.

worth a try ( although tins expensive from vet as prescription only )

Re: Cat with upset tum issues - but has seen vet

When you say his tum is upset do you mean he vomits or has diarrhoea? Sometimes a bit of both can indicate Inflammatory Bowel Disease. My beloved Bailey had this and it was controlled by Hills z/d which contains hydrogenated (small molecule) proteins which the gut can better deal with..He never look...

Re: Do I or don't i

I think you indicate that you have 2 cats..Spraying, as has been suggested, is a territory thing and there is probably conflict between the two cats, vieing for dominance. An unneutered tom in the house is asking for conflict. Sometimes even if neutered they will still spray as mine did. I had broth...
