Re: Photos!!

Ooh so cute! Has the kitten got a bandage on in the first picture? Beautiful blue eyes like Kevin had when he was tiny.

The photo of the 2 black cats cuddling looks so much like Molly!

Re: Photos!!

Oh yes I did think that when I saw the thread, at the moment his body is a bit too long for him too! He grows into various body parts and then has spurts in other areas bless him. I love all cats, and grew up with 2 tuxedos. But with all the press about black cats not being adopted recently we knew ...

And Kevin, our 4 month old determined, mischievous but loving baby boy. We got him at just 9 weeks old when he had chocolate brown tabby markings, but he's now all black.

Re: Say hello to Magic!

OMG she's a cutie!! We did exactly the same with our latest in using a cage, in October we got a gorgeous 9 week old black kitten called Kevin. He had a runny tummy too to start with but he soon settled in. He's got about a zillion toys, which is great as he's teaching his older sister to play! (She...

Re: Are they just playing?

They're just starting the evenings events, chasing each other round the living room! It's really funny to watch, Kevin 'tags' her then runs away and hides while she chases him, then when she walks off he comes out and tags her again!

Re: Are they just playing?

Her tail can completely bend back on itself flat to the rest of the tail, but won't straighten past a right angle. It doesn't cause her pain, and when we took her to the vets when we first got her they said she'd probably been born like that, if it was a break or trauma it would more likely have fus...

Re: Are they just playing?

Kevin's got the innocent look down to a tee, even when he's caught red-handed! Molly just runs away to avoid being implicated :-) She climbed on me in bed for the first time ever this morning; she didn't settle but it's something of a breakthrough! I've got a photo somewhere of her with her wonky ta...

Re: Are they just playing?

Soooo cute!!! Kevin is probably the size of your middle cat, Molly more like the front one. Our don't cuddle as Molly is a very anxious girl but I'm hoping they learn to snuggle!

Re: Are they just playing?

No they do actively seek each other out when they're in play mood, when we took Kevin for his neutering last week Molly spent all morning looking for him, then realised she could have a few hours sleep in peace! They do out their ears back while they're playing but I think that's just making sure th...

Are they just playing?

Hi all, I'm pretty sure im just being a bit overprotective of our kitten, and maybe putting too many human worries into their behaviour, but... Every morning and evening, which I know is a cats most active time, our 1 1/2 year old female cat and our recently neutered 4 month old boy chase each other...

Re: Kitten heart murmur

Thanks!! I think I'm just overly worrying as these are the first cats I've had since I was a child so really my mum looked after the health of my previous cats. Also my husband and I don't have any human babies yet so they're our babies!

Re: Kitten heart murmur

So we took Kevin to be neutered on 29th December as he's now 4 months and is desperate to get outside! We figured of hes chipped and chopped (!) at least he's identifiable if he does sneak out and he's not going to roam too far!! Anyway, when we took him they rang us to say they were going to use ga...

Re: Letting out the kitten!!

I've got loads of adorable pics of both Kevin and Molly but I have trouble uploading them, they're always too big! They're both completely black, but Kevin has brown pads and had brown tabby stripes when he was tiny. Molly has a deformed tail from birth, the last inch or so is permanently bent and w...

Re: Letting out the kitten!!

Well Kevin's been 'snipped', he coped very well with it and doesn't seem to be bothering much with his wound which is good. We've agreed to wait until the weather is a bit better before we start letting him out; it's pretty miserable and icy still here. Our big girl has got used to asking to be let ...

Re: Kevin's a biter!

That's a really good idea, let me know if they work! He's definitely in the terrible twos, he used to jump up on my lap and nap in the evening with me but now he would much rather be with our other cat or on his own than cuddling with us! Luckily he's still ok with being picked up; our older cat hat...

Re: Kevin's a biter!

It's nice to hear that someone else's kitten is exactly the same! The 'koala grab' comment made me laugh as that's exactly what Kevin does. He's got a couple of boxes he chews, we've got dental toys but I don't think they're hard enough for him, he likes to gnaw on the sticks of his dangly toys. I w...

Re: Kevin's a biter!

Those were my thoughts exactly. Pushing him away doesn't work as he thinks this is part of the game and pounces back! Hissing may work, although I'm a softie and don't want to scare him! I honestly think it's just a case of not being taught by his mother what's ok and what's not and as my husband an...

Re: Kevin's a biter!

I would say yes but I'm not sure we'll know the difference as he's always been a biter! He's always liked to gnaw on stuff.

I realise I make him sound like a terror; he's not, just when he's in the mood everything and everyone gets bitten!

Re: Kevin's a biter!

We do give him lots of play....he has boundless energy! He and molly chase each other around the house all morning but molly loves to be outside so once she's had enough out she goes. (I've just seen her run off up the garden as I'm writing this!) We will up the ante on playtime, as he does let us s...

Kevin's a biter!

We have an almost 4 month old kitten called Kevin. We got him at 9 weeks old (which in hindsight I think was a tad early but the owner was really adamant he go as he was the last of the litter and the runt). Anyway, he and our older cat Molly get on fine now, but our problem is he's a biter! As with...

Re: Breakthrough!!

Ok I need to pick some brains here....Kevin's bum is stinky!! He's 15 weeks old, and can be neutered as of 23rd december. He was asleep on my lap this afternoon when we noticed a quite unpleasant smell coming from his back end. It doesn't smell like poo and his back end is clean, it's a really funky...
