Re: And then there were 7 .........

Thanks Helen. Yes the little girl is doing better in herself. Very vocal and demanding nowadays! I've just had a giggle at Daz eating his and Teasel's biccies :D He is such a character. For a first meeting I think that went pretty well. Daz's presence didn't seem to alarm Teasel and she didn't put D...

I agree. Sounds like a great idea to get Teasel and Daz introduced. Will be very interested to hear how they get on.

Re: Alternative senior food - any suggestions?

As Sarah said, Fluffy is now on Lily's Kitchen which I occasionally alternate with Nature's Menu when she gets bored. She was previously addicted to Gourmet Perle which has added sugars and is quite high in salt. Because of her CKD and heart disease I was desperate to get her off the gourmet. Took a...

Re: And then there were 7 .........

Helen it looks like Daz is wanting to make friends with Coco :) What a gorgeous boy he is. Well at least her first vet visit is over with. She is so very lovely and I hope that someone will be wanting to take her home soon. Love her little house in her pen. Very sweet. Glad Teasel is still making pr...

Re: And then there were 7 .........

Helen that's a wonderful pic of Daz and Merrick. I've been thinking about you and Daz and wondering how Daz was getting on and whether he was making any new friends. Maybe he and Merrick have a common bond in that they both miss Peaches. Glad he's spending more time with Basil. He is obviously a cat...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

I used to give one of my dogs rimadyl. I was aware of the possible side effects at the time. I stopped giving it him in the end as it made him sick. Surely your vet wouldn't have suggested the carprofen if she didn't think it was safe. All you can do is ask her about the safety of it. It's possible ...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

That's all good news Mark :) . Must help you to feel better about Laz's health. I don't have any experience of carprofen so don't know much about it (had to look it up). At least the vet seems more positive about things too. Must be great to not have to put Laz through the stress of a car journey wh...

What a relief!!! Your nerves can start recovering now :)

So pleased the scan found nothing sinister. I hope the carprofen works well for him. Let us know how he's doing when he's back home. Give him a gentle fuss from me.

Just to let you know I'll be thinking about you tomorrow Mark. Hope that Laz is still feeling a little better. I was so pleased to read about all that he was getting up to the other day. Made me smile as it was a complete turn around from how he's been lately. Let us know how you get on.

Helen that's good news that Teasel seems better today. It won't take her long to get back to where you were and then progress from there. I hope your wounds start to heal ok. Poor you. If only Teasel had known what you've been through the last few days :( Give Daz a big cuddle from me. He is such a ...

Re: And then there were 7 .........

Helen that must have really hurt!! Was the last thing you needed to happen. Poor you. It couldn't be avoided in anyway. Like you say, Teasel probably had it stuck to her for some time and was already freaked out by it. It may take a day or two but you will soon pick up where you left off. It's just ...

Helen that will be absolutely lovely. You couldn't have gone for a more appropriate plant. The colours will be fabulous when they develop. What a very fitting tribute to a much loved and adored little girl. I'm sure that Daz will take comfort from knowing that a part of him is with his beloved Peaches. Oh Helen, little Peaches has touched many of our hearts. She had a fun filled and active life. I've been looking over and over at the clip of her going on an expedition with Daz. Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

I didn't realise they'd been around for so long. Can understand you not wanting to squirt water in their direction. I read in a book a few years ago about using a water pistol for training cats not to scratch the furniture. It said that it's best if you can squirt it in such a way that the cat doesn...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

What a busy time you've had!! I keep forgetting the vet is only next door. Poor Laz having cystitis. That would contribute to his feeling rotten. I hadn't given it a thought because of the amount of urine he's been producing. Hopefully the meds will help him feel much better once they start to kick ...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

Mark I think it's a good idea to email Wedgewood. If they don't ship to the UK then they might know of a UK supplier that does. Would be worth finding out. I don't like it when vets are baffled. There's always a reason for excessive drinking. I know that Laz is in a cool area but maybe he is feeling...

Re: Does anyone have any experience with night blindness?

Sorry Mark that Laz is still so lethargic. I had no idea that Istin could do that. It's a horrible dilemma for you isn't it. The giving one tablet every other day doesn't make much sense to me. May as well give him a lower dosage every day. Would be great if we could access the size of tabs that are...

Helen I think the age of the photo and the poor quality helps tone down her disgruntled expression :) She used to watch Fraser very carefully and I think in this photo she was deliberately getting in on the action. The funny thing is that he was so focussed on me that he didn't even notice she'd cre...

Helen that sounds very promising. She isn't afraid of having a fuss made of her, she just wants it on her terms. You're doing so well with her. Give her a big fuss from me next time you go into see her.
