Re: A nice poem
That is so right, Bobbys Girl! Glad you all like the poem, the card is up in my "keepies" drawer now (most cards are in the bin soon after events!). She got it in honour of my new cat, Denver who is joining me in a couple of weeks time after my holiday. I'm off out today to get some cat to...

A nice poem
This poem was on a greetings card my sister just sent me. I hope you all like it! God was in His workshop Creating perfection He wrapped it up in silken fur And filled it with affection He then gave it two angel eyes And finally, placed it on my lap! Thank you, Lord, for this wondrous gift I think I...

Re: Yes...it has been asked before, but...
My girl Kitten was on Metacam for a good year before she died for her arthritis. It didn't do her any harm, in fact, she was really active, jumped on the bed very well and literally bounced her way up and down the stairs! I was warned to keep an eye on her kidneys, but I didn't have any problems. Wh...

Well done Helen! I hope I have as much luck winning Denver over when he comes to live with me - however, at present, he is curled up very happily on my sofa having a snooze!!! I think he thinks he has moved in already. I can't have him yet though, I'm having a weeks holiday soon and I don't think it...

Denver
I am getting a new cat soon, he currently belongs to my neighbours who are moving and they can't take him with them. My main query is should I still keep him in for a few days after getting him (like if he came from another area) or can I let him out at once (as he lives next door, he knows the area...

Re: Should a one eyed cat be kept indoors?
I can only advise based on my experience. When Kitten went blind in 2011 she adapted quickly to an indoor life and she'd always been an indoor/outdoor cat - in fact, she coped better with her blindness than I did! I think it depends on your area a lot too - eg is your road quiet, can you secure your...

You are certainly doing the right thing by little Whisky! Good luck with him, one of my cats was also called Whisky and I'm sure he is purring with approval at Rainbow Bridge. Good luck and please give him and Comet a cuddle from me.

Hi Sacha
I don't think she is due, probably just checking out safe places to have her family! A neighbours cat made friends with us and decided to have her litter with us. Quite an experience! Perhaps your Vet could give an estimate of the due date?
Please let us know how you get on.

Re: Anyone help?
I'm so sorry to read about your poor cat. In February 2012 my cat Kitten went to the Vet for a check-up, and the Vet found a lump in her stomach. It wasn't hurting her (you wouldn't have thought there was anything wrong) and until November, it didn't grow at all - the Vet could even feel it and she ...

What a lovely name! You have certainly come to the right place for cat help, and general cat chat! I joined nearly 3 years ago when my elderly cat Kitten suddenly went blind, and the help and support I got from everyone was very helpful. Although I don't have a cat now, I still love coming on here. ...

Re: New kitten weak meow
Hi Catherine, welcome to CC! If I were you, I would have your little kitten checked by a Vet to be certain he is ok. The weak meow may not be a problem (every cats voice is different), but I'm still concerned - 6 weeks is way too early for a kitten to leave its mother - every book I have says 8 week...

Re: What breed is the cat in the picture, please
Hi Vlad welcome to CC! It could also be a Balinese - they are the long furred variety of Siamese! But looking at the white front paws (and my cat book) it could also be a Seal Point Birman. The legend says one (pure white then) was a temple cat and when the High priest died, its paws (which touched ...

Re: Anyone remember Kitten Kong?
Shelly and Jill - its on YouTube if you want to watch it! Best to suspend disbelief when you do (and bear in mind it was made in the 70s, so the effects are not what you would call "modern") but for a half hour of old fashioned slapstick style comedy, plus cute animals, its hard to beat!

Anyone remember Kitten Kong?
Just been enjoying The Goodies episode of Kitten Kong on BBC2's 70s night! Not seen it before (well, I was a very young child when it first came out!), and I was really laughing! Such a sweet kitten too.
Anyone else remember it?

Re: Thinking about getting a cat, need advice!
Hi, welcome to CC and thank you for deciding to adopt the most loyal companion you will ever have! As for the question - thats a tricky one. I have had 2 indoor cats (due to age, both now at Rainbow Bridge) for the last few years, although they used to be outdoor cats when younger. There are pros an...

I'm sorry to hear about Maureen and Poppy. No matter how old they are, the loss always hurts. I know its no help at the moment, but it does get easier in time, but only YOU can know how long that "time" is going to be. Make sure you give yourselves that time - and not a minute shorter. RIP...
