Re: Feeling terrible - tormented my cat and not helped him :

You have my sympathy! Although all my cats have been very good at going into the basket (even if they did struggle a bit), my girl Mischa who died last year LOATHED having a pedicure! I had to take her to the Vets to have it done, and it used to take 3 of us just to hold her down while the Vet did t...

Re: Are cats responsible for 99% of illiteracy?

I don't know if any of you have read "The Silent Miaow" - its a book written by a cat (and translated by Paul Gallico) about how to take over a house, get the humans there to be your slaves, how to get the best food (and the best of everything else too). It is a very funny and thought prov...

Re: pets names

Thank you - it was. It was so strange though. In the last 6 months of her life my mum was in and out of the Hospital and (for the last week) the Hospice often with long stays there. While she was away (but still alive) Biscuit was fine, still eating, enjoying cuddles, going out and quite happy. Mum ...

Re: pets names

My first cat was a gorgeous ginger/white tabby kitten. We visited him and his mum when he was just 6 weeks old, the owners wanted us to take him away then, but we persuaded them to keep him for another 2 weeks with his mum. During those 2 weeks, we were having endless discussions about names, we mus...

Re: “Health and Behaviour” Section of the Forum

I agree with everyone else that a cats behaviour is often linked to how it is feeling health wise and is often the only way we have of spotting any health problems as they are so good at concealing pain so I would also say keep them together. Just to wish you Jane and all the admins a happy new year...

Denver is exactly the same, when he's on my lap in the evening, I can tell without looking if he is dreaming as he twitches so much, wags his tail etc! Must be chasing mice in his sleep.

Re: TORBAY - Home needed for young tabby cat.

I'm so sorry I can't help. I live in Torbay, but Denver my cat also has to be an only cat as he used to bully his mother before my neighbours moved and asked if I could adopt him. Have you tried the Blue Cross near Brunel Manor to see if they have any spaces? I believe there is also a centre feature...

Re: Giving pills to cat

When my Kitten had to have a daily BP pill I used to give it to her in a small lump of Dairylea cheese which she loved. With Denver, I put a tiny amount of his pouch food down with any pill needed to be taken buried in it - and hope he's hungry! For a good laugh look up "How to give a cat a pil...

Poor cat. If even the RSPCA won't help it, who will? And it was her own fault for leaving the pizza out where the cat could steal it too. I feel sorry for all her pets and children, having a mum like that.

I'm so sorry Chikakat, I just can't believe how heartless some people are. Please give yourself more time to grieve. 1 day after you were told is no time at all, especially considering what happened. My late tabby Mischa was just like that, but it wasn't food - it was the gas fire going on in the lounge in the winter! No matter where she was in the house, as soon as she heard me lighting it she would come shooting in to claim the best patch right in front of it where it was warmest. Always amaze...

There was a cat on TV a few weeks ago who did this, and was terrorising the resident cat out of his fur, poor thing!
