Re: Vibes for Buster please

He was still very quiet and wanting to hide this morning, so just dropped him off at the vets. They are going to get bloods back today, he's had a couple of injections and they are going to give him fluids. Going back for him at 6.30

Re: Vibes for Buster please

Well, he came in the kitchen for his tea and was sick again, so rang the emergency vet, while on the phone he decided to show an interest in playing! He's had a little bit of food but think he'll be going to the vet in the morning. He could be in pain but unfortunately can't have metacam.

Re: Vibes for Buster please

Thinking of you and Buster today. Does he like those creamy licky-sachets? They might get vitamins and some fluids into him. Headbutts and fusses to the lovely boy - so worrying for you but I hope it's just a blip. xx He's never had them, as he has a sensitive stomach so never risked them. I syring...

Vibes for Buster please

Please can I have some vibes for Buster please? he wasn't interested in his supper last night or his breakfast this morning, he has been sick a couple of times and is now just very quiet and not interested in much. He seems a bit dehydrated so we've syringed some fluids into him which got him to eat...

Re: Worried about our cat...

As cats are pregnant for 9 weeks, I'd be very surprised if that was the case. If you've had her for 2 years and she's been going out, you'd have found out by now if she wasn't neutered

Re: old old lady.....

If she was mine, I wouldn't put her through the tests, if they show the cancer is back, you wouldn't want to put her through treatment. If the abs don't work, I'd ask the vet for steroids but wouldn't do more than that.

Re: Please help - cat with respiratory distress at our vet

I've had some really awkward cats but never needed one being sedated for bloods, instead mine use a local anaesthetic gel called Em la, needs to be put on 20 mins before bloods so you do have to wait but works well.

Personally, I would give him the metacam every day as it's a cox inhibitor which can slow cancer down.

Could be hyper t, which isn't covered by standard blood tests. It might be worth checking to see if it was included

Re: Bad liver, very high liver enzymes/liver disease

How old is she? Hyper t can cause raised liver enzymes. Also, it could be the lack of eating and bad tooth rather than liver disease. The liver can regenerate though.

Re: so...Milla kinda mated but her heat cycle is still going

Oh Joe - that brought back some memories! I heard of that idea back in the 1980s when a little girl of mine, too young to breed, had continuous calls. So I phoned my vet - and she reported back to me that the whole surgery was in fits of laughter! But apart from dirty jokes it's not unknown - I onc...

I'm very surprised they haven't seen a vet, CP minimum standards are neutered, microchipped and had at least first vaccination

Re: A long battle with Kylie's food and sods law.

She could still have hyper t then, if values are in the upper quartile (which I'm guessing they are if he said grey area), then they can actually be hyper t which can be confirmed with a Free T4 test.

I wouldn't rule out hyper t based on that mark, someone who used to be a member had a hyper t cat without increases appetite, it's rare but can happen

Re: Urgent advice please - Polly at emergency vet - PKD/kidn

I'm sorry to hear this, I hope she can rally round but figures going up that quickly in such a short space of time as well as the ultrasound showing a decline doesn't sound good unfortunately. I'm sure you know that they can function with no symptoms until 20% function remains and they often do end ...

Re: Lily's Gone to her Furever Home!

Unfortunately sometimes those cats are worse in a crate as they don't cope in confined spaces - we had a semi feral who was fine in a room, but when transferred to a pen, she was a lot more aggressive and unhandleable. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like your fiance realises what fostering really en...

Re: Lily's Gone to her Furever Home!

I'm glad your little girl has found a good home. Regarding your other foster, 3 weeks is no time at all for nervous cats to come round, you need to be looking at months before deciding - how much time are you spending with him every day?

Personally, I'm not sure I'd put a cat that age through something so invasive. I think you need to ask a few questions such as the kind of recovery, what kind of complications etc. Has she had blood tests recently?

Re: newborn kittens! dad a siamese mummy a moggy

Dad isn't a persian. Your kittens will be moggies, and I would recommend getting mum neutered when the kittens are old enough, and advising whoever owns dad to also get him neutered, there are far too many cats /kittens already looking for homes and not enough homes
