And your sister has actually taking Annie to a vet? I am only saying this cause once she has been looked at by a vet, they can rule out any problems. I think its best for now to separate the two and at nights if they are kept in, keep them apart. Feed them away from each other.

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Hi all, so Shelly is home now. Whilst at vets, she ate like a horse lol. Yep I knew she was doing much better once they said that. So we had a long chat with our vet....something caused the bleed at the back of her nose, they are unsure as to what it was as the was no foreign objects, nothing that s...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
If it was neurological then that would be hard to treat, yes. Whatever it was that caused the bleed, lets hope the meds treat it. I doubt she knocked herself as the day she started fedling off I was home all day and she slept most of the day in her bed.

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Update....so we kinda have good news. Vets had a look at her mouth, teeth and gums..was all fine. Next her throat, again all fine. So they checked back of her nose and they found some blood. How or why, we dont know. Possible infection, or knock to head which would explain why at times she would cow...

Poor Annie. First off has a vet seen her since she moved to yours? That is the first step in eliminating anything medically wrong. I would check in at vet first and if all is well then maybe you will try the intrduction stage all over again.

Re: I think her time is drawing near
We left Shelly at the vets. They will have a deep look at her mouth and teeth, should they not see anything then the will do an endoscopy, where they will put camera down her throat to check. If all comes back fine then more likely it is a neurological issue that ties in with the wonky walk she has ...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Nice to hear Boris recovered well. Called into my vets and got an appt at 10.50am with the vet thats has been seeing her. She ate some fish but I noticed some bits fell out and it seemed she looked uncomfortable eating. I hope our vet figures it cause the specialist route will be expensive and most ...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
I have every confidence in my vet. I trust them completely. If it was her throat or mouth surely she wouldnt eat? We are able to prise her jaw open to syringe the Bubrecare under her tongue. Its so odd because 2wks ago vets checked her mouth and it was fine. I will be calling my vets now, also I hav...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Hey well her mouth was looked at twice. The first time a vet covered her in blanket whilst the other looked. Nothing...no swelling, no redness her mouth was in good shape. Few days later mouth was looked at again, same conclusion. Two weeks ago when she first stopped eating, she was ok days later, e...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Shelly pooped and wee'd. She ate and seems tad better although she is running away still, but when sleeping she is ok when we approach. She is purring but its a different pur. I wonder if the issue lies in the throat...what issues could you have there??

Re: I think her time is drawing near
Atm Shelly is still on my mums bed. She hasn't moved since 10am. She ate treats so I suspect she will eat when we feed the cats at 6pm. When I walk in, she seems agitated, worried even til I approach and stroke her, then she starts purring. Her character is so off. Its just so worrying. If by tomorr...

Re: I think her time is drawing near
I am not worried about emergency visits, I know I can call on them anytime. We are trying ourselves to get the pain relied down her which we are able to do. We are seeing if that will help. She is resting on my mums bed and I am able to stroke her. She is taking Buprecare atm every 8hrs. She is eati...

I think her time is drawing near
So many may remember Shelly's thread, about her not eating for no sudden reason. Bloods and a scan showed nothing. She was fine again few days after it started, eating normally and being herself. Suddenly her appetite dropped yet again and now Shelly is hiding and running away. She has never showed ...

I can start to laugh now because Shelly has bald patches, one from where they took bloods and yesterday when they did the scan. Thanks all for your thoughts and wishes!

Re: Strange chattering sound when eating soft food
Thanks Crewella. Some part of me was hoping something was found so we could understand the appetite loss but I am so glad nothing showed. Over past few days Shelly wouldnt take food from my hand, earlier I had a piece of white fish and she yanked it off me, so thats a great sign.

Re: Strange chattering sound when eating soft food
So ultrasound was performed on Shelly today. Nothing was found and her appetite today came back quite a bit. We are to watch her for next week as this could have been a passing infection or quite simply a sore throat. If appetite slows down or continues to be off next step is to sedate her and have ...

Re: Please help
Mum needs to be neutered asap really and I would suggest getting the kittens in just to give them a check over. Kittens are old enough so if they are really close to mum, mum may want her own space. Some mums can act out like this. She really needs to be done.

Re: Hairy worm or growth from feral cats shoulder
That's great news. Whatever it is...it doesn't seem to bother him nor been in any pain and that fact it's breaking off with no added signs that he is in pain...mean it could be just something very minor. Was it hard whatever it was or soft.....sometimes I see things poking from my cats fur but on cl...

Re: Strange chattering sound when eating soft food
Ok so the mystery deepens. Quoting the vet she said in 35yrs of being a vet...she is mistified! Again she looked at mouth and it was fine...in fact in great shape. Something may be lodged in her throat but our vet thinks that is unlikely as she would see an indication in the mouth. So we are back to...

Re: Strange chattering sound when eating soft food
Thanks Val, I do hope so to. If nothing is found then next step is x-rays to her chest and ultrasound and urine sample. Shelly awakens round time I feed the cats and she will walk to her bowl...eat 3 or 4 mouthfuls then walks away. So I am trying to give her few bowls a day of cat milk. All the sign...

Re: Jaw discomfort
I am in a similar boat. My cat is currently struggling to eat and is making a awful grinding sound when she does....and she is on soft white fish. Vet checked her mouth and all was fine. So we are going back. As brilliant that vets are..sometimes they just cant see far enough and so they need to be ...
