Hi and welcome.
Has Jasper been like this from the start? If not I wonder if something has happened that has spooked him?

Re: Basil not eating
Good news!!! So pleased. Basil well done boy!
Because of Shelly every time I hear a cat isn't eating I become so worried, but I am glad Basil pulled through. Lucky you, you got your boys coming home tonight.

Re: skin issues of unknown cause
Hi, I am sorry to hear about your cat. It sounds like an allergic reaction of some kind. As Sue says....is there anything you have used lately in the house that is new like soap or air fresher, anything you can think of that you have started to use lately. For now I suggest you bathe your cat, as in...

Re: Basil not eating
Oh basil, please eat. Bless him. I hope the results now point to a reason why he is not eating. Lets hope the drugs get working and during the night he will perk right up. Did the vets explain how his bilirubin levels became raised?

Re: Basil not eating
Truth is I am still quite upset. But I have that sense of calm cause I had this dream which I posted on my thread. Plus...I knew it was right, the last couple weeks she got more tired as days went on. I just brought a frame and got a photo developed with her, so that's up and showing. She is forever...

Bless Basil. Well lets wait on those results for now, if that is all good then I guess you may have to do some searching.
I really hope he picks up, its dreadful when they don't eat.

Aww Crewella...I hope he starts eating soon. I know all too well the stress that comes when your cat stops eating with few reasons as to why. You know the story of my Shelly.
I hope he picks up very soon. Has your vet ruled out mouth/dental problems?

Re: teeth cleaning
Does your vet do free dental checks by a nurse? Ours do and usually a apt with a nurse at the vets is free. I would take Puss in and get a nurse to have a look at her teeth. If there is any plaque or tarter...this can get worse.
Also look into Plauque Off for cats.

So what's your next plan? I mean if he is still losing weight and eating, its gotta be dealt with, you don't want him to waste away.
I really suggest asking your vet if they can do payment plan.

Well that's good if you plan to keep them. If so, I suggest get them done when they are old enough.

To be honest I cannot understand how he went from being diabetic to not diabetic, i dont even know if that is possible. OK so maybe not worms, its obvious further investigation is needed.

Good that you got an appt.
How is Edgar getting on? Microchip feeders....I have never used them before, but if it helps Edgar stay away from dry then it's certainly worth a shot.

Re: Cat is eating but just wasting away :(
Well my Heidi used to eat and eat but never put much weight on, but she had IBD and suffered from low potassium so we had to give her a potassium supplement everyday. I am just curious, ergo why I asked if he has been wormed. You have a cat here that is eating but slowly dropping weight. I am trying...

Re: Pregnancy suspicions and change in behaviour
How is your cat? Have you been able to confirm your cat is indeed carrying? If she is as hard as it is to say.....the others are right. Unless you can care for all kittens yourself, but that's up to you. If you know you can't then I will do as the others suggested because if you didn't then you have...

Your in the states, ok. So he is eating and his appetite hasn't changed. Have you wormed your cat?
Is he having troubles getting around now? I suggest asking your vet if you can do a payment plan.

Re: Cat is eating but just wasting away :(
Oh no. Hmmm I have used steriods and they have worked wonders. They do increase appetite so be careful about his diet should you go this route. Can your vets accept a payment plan? Are you in UK, cause £500 is alot for an ultrasound. My vets dont charge that....thats really high. But anyway although...

No way are animals dumb, the exact opposite. Its possible CC met Shelly and Fi somehow picked up on this, prompting her to remember CC.
I hope she continues to eat.

A great set of names! Love it.
Regarding the food, all supermarkets like Sainsburys and Asda sell Purina, Iams and Ulitma which are a good decent dry food. Or try Pets at Home, they sell really good descents brands such as Wainwright or James Well Beloved.

Re: I think her time is drawing near
How is Fi? Gosh I had a dream last night...and its made me very happy. I lost two other cats Suschi in 2011 and Heidi in 2012, some may remember Heidi. So I dreamt I was walking in this huge field with a hill and trees in the far distance. On the hill were two very small figures, I couldn't make out...

Awww Fi...eat baby girl, or Shelly will steal your food from above.
Fi has done a lovely job in ensuring CC met my baby and took her to my other two. Now stop scaring mummy and eat. Perhaps she is now re-mourning CC.

Re: Cat keeps going to the toilet on stairs.
Yes...Meriad is right. Please don't shout or point fingers with raised voices when they go toilet in places other then the litter box. Cats don't respond to shouting, it would scare them. My Shelly would always go toilet near the box, or she would miss it bless her. Sometimes I would laugh, other ti...

Re: Cat keeps going to the toilet on stairs.
Ok, I suggest getting an extra box if you can and maybe change the litter...to something like wood pellets? I use that and its brilliant. It starts off as small pellets that look hard but it's soft on the paws and when the cat starts weeing in the box, the pellets then break apart and it starts look...

Re: Cat keeps going to the toilet on stairs.
Hi Can I ask how many litter boxes do you have? Usually you would have one litterbox per cat and if possible an extra one. Some cats don't like to share. I have one box inside and one out because luckily our cats don't mind sharing but the majority of cats like their own space to go toilet. Try a ex...
