Re: Cat fighting?
Have you spoken to a vet about it? Where did he come from? Have you had him since he was a kitten? No we haven't. We have had him just over a year. He was a semi stray. I say semi as he had a home but he spent his time outside 24/7 and most of that was sat on our bin wanting to come in lol. I think...

Re: loss, how to cope?
Sorry for your loss:( It is so hard. 6 months on and I still get upset about my two. I also found that the only friends I was able to truly confined in, were those who also had pets, others just did not understand.

Re: Cat fighting?
He is neutered. Not sure if it makes any difference but when he went to get neutered they had issues as he had (forget the correct term) a hidden testicle where it had not dropped?? so they had to cut into him higher as if he was a lady cat. His hormones are raging. He is just around 4 years old.

Cat fighting?
My cat Ted is always fighting all the cats in our neighbourhood:\ He comes homes covered in scratches and has blood pouring but he just won't stop. Is there any way to help this behaviour? I have never had cats that have acted this bad towards any others... He just goes psycho every time he sees one...

Re: 6 months on..
I echo what Hannah so wonderfully put. We're always here if you need to talk Joanna. It's hard when you lose something dear to you, but even more so when it's unexpected. The only thing I can recommend is to keep going as best you can and keep remembering. At the moment it's hard but soon that pain...

Joanne - I'm so sorry to hear of your losses. What beautiful cats you had! It always saddens me to read about any animals passing but I wanted to post a reply - I don't post here much but after I lost my beloved cat last August, I found the support here amazing. I completely understand when you say...

6 months on..
It has been 6 month today since my beloved Jimmy was pts and nearly 6 months since our beloved Erik was ran over. People say time is a healer but honestly so far the pain is just as raw as the days it all happened. I would say I was more at peace with Jimmy's death since it was expected... but Eriks...

Sun lotion for cats?
I have heard it is recommended that cats with white ears etc need sun lotion? My cat Ted has a fully white nose so I wondered if it is necessary?

Re: Advocate?
I think to some degree it depends what you used to worm him? You could safely use a different product that has a different active ingredient - that way you're not overdosing. It was Panacur. I have still nit given the flea solution yet but am thinking of next week as will be a month since his wormer.

Advocate?
I know Advocate is a flea and wormer in one so is it safe for me to use on my cat when he was only wormed 2 weeks ago? He is having flea issues so really needs de-fleaing but I do not want to use it if its not safe to yet.

I have been meaning to make this post for awhile now. I recued Henry from the RSPCA just over 3 weeks ago. What can cause weight gain?
My cat Ted seems to be getting bigger and bigger and I swear he hardly eats:\ An average day would be 1 tin of applaws and the same amount in biscuits (if that):\ he is so stocky! verging on 6 kg id say.

Re: UTI?
Thanks for the replies.
Lallum- you poor baby has gone through A LOT!:( I had no idea they could even do such an operation.
Ted finished his meds and so far seems back to normal. Trying to keep an eye on it but as he is more outdoors these past few weeks it is hard to know if he is urinating okay.

Re: Kitten or Adult food?
I bought him a high quality kitten food applaws and another high brand but i forget name. Rspca are feeding him their own brand which looks like your average type of whiskers. They only feed dry too. So i thought id mainly feed his dry applaws biscuits and slowly add in a bit of wet?

Kitten or Adult food?
I am in the process of adopting a kitten from the RSPCA. They estimate him between 6m and a year. From his tiny size I personally think he is much closer to the 6m mark. I went out and bought him Kitten food for when we get him home, but I have now been told that he is eating adult food:\ I feel he ...

Re: Aggressive behaviour
Hi. If you replace the word "aggression" with "anxiety", you will begin to get an idea of what's going on in his head, and how to respond to it. He doesn't need to be treated like an aggressive cat, he needs to be treated like an anxious cat. It sounds to me like he had a nasty ...
