Re: Bobby's Home!

Apart from 2 small areas the wound is dry, clean and mending nicely. It's just those 2 small areas - that were not there on Monday! He is bright enough in himself and eating well, though a bit reluctant to walk very far. He rears up on his hind legs and waves his front paw at me 'Mummy pick me up' -...

What's 'NORMAL'? You are suffering from stress and grief - both of those Bogie Men are normal. Go easy on yourself.
We have all thought 'never again', but then some little furry person needs your help and you can't say no! Take care.

Re: need help getting rid of cat urine

There is a product by 'Four Paws' called Industrial Super Strength Stain and Odor (American?) Remover. I wouldn't say it was 100% successful, but it is very good. Can you peel back the carpet and air the concrete for a while? Perhaps a good dollop of the above and some air might work. I know you can...

Re: Bobby's Home!

Just got back for the vets. The dressing had a gooey patch on it - it was clean on Monday. Blast! He has been given another course of antibiotics and a long acting injection of antibiotics. He seems chirpy enough. He is eating well and after the vet weighed him he jumped back on to the table - witho...

No Danny you are not crazy (and if you are you have plenty of company!) I have a picture of my sweet Poppy as a screensaver. Her paw is raised and she looks like she is waving. I always say 'hello' to her when I fire up the pooter, and 'night night sweetie' when I switch off. I had her for 6 sweet m...

Re: Getting a resacue cat

Hi Ed, sorry to hear about your kitty and the problems you are having. Don't give up, the right cat or cats are waiting for you somewhere. My husband had a similar problem some years back. He wanted to give dog a new home. But was turned down by all the local charities. They said because he lived on...

I'm with you there Lyn! What's BlogSpot when it's at home? I can barely keep up with emails. I don't do Twitter or Facebook either. If you Google my name you get a professor in Scotland, HA! Sometimes it's nice to be 'invisible'. Hubby 'Facebooks' because of his kids (only way he knows what 3 of the...

Hello Amanda
Welcome to CC. I am sorry it is in such sad circumstances. Poor you, what a shock.
You are right, she went quickly, doing what she loved. That's small comfort at the moment, but hopefully it is some comfort.
Thinking of you,
Sue

Re: Broken Jaw Operation

I've been out all day and have just logged on to say that A/D and a syringe has helped me with 2 post op. kitties, one of them with a broken jaw.
I am so sorry to hear the news. I had really thought he would be OK. You must be in bits. You are in my thoughts - God bless

Go easy on yourself Joe. You are going through a very stressful time at the moment. At times like this we all do daft/weird things. It is normal in times of stress and grief to do and think strange things. You are not unusual in this.
Take good care of yourself. We are thinking about you.

Re: Bobby's Home!

Well what a busy hour THAT was! It was a lovely evening, so while my husband was sitting outside sorting out his new boat rod and reel, I thought it would be nice to take Bob out for some sunshine. At first he sat taking it all in. The girls came over to say 'hello'. Everything was fine and dandy. I...

Re: Bobby's Home!

Thanks for your interest Sarah. I took him to the vets today to get his dressing changed. John, the vet, is very pleased with his progress and doesn't want to see him again until Thurs. Bobby himself is still not his usual bouncy self, but he is getting there. It is lovely here right now so I might ...

I'm back! The vet is very pleased with Bobby's progress, hurrah! You say you are having difficulty finding a sympathetic (and competent) vet. Our local vet is a very nice man. But he is a farm vet - most of his clients moo! We went online to look for another vet and found a brilliant one just over t...

Re: How do I cope with losing pets - long read, I need hep :

Dear Joe, I've just read what 'Jacks' said and I couldn't have put it better myself. I am in a bit of a rush this morning - I have to take my boy to the vets to have his dressings changed. I was completely shattered at the news last week that, on top of his other problems he is FIV+. That's the reas...

I am so sorry to hear your sad news. It's one thing to lose a pet after a long and happy life - you can accept that. But when it is so sudden it really hurts doesn't it? It will take time and there will always be the sadness of loss at the memory. But in time you will remember all the happy times to...

Sorry to hear you are having problems. I know how frustrating this problem can be - no one wants to live in a house ponging of kitty pee! I think Sarah is right, all may seem well to you, but perhaps he has picked up on something. Has his relationship with your other cat changed? Is he an in-door ca...

Thanks KittyWitty,
I tried that but the file is too big! I'll try again tomorrow.
Bob is still a little wobbly - Wobbly Bob - mmm. But he is eating ok and has been hopping around. Something tells me I am going to have a job keeping him in and clean!
Thanks for asking after him.

Re: Dilemma - Advice needed

Hope all goes well for you and Whisky. My first cat was only about a week old when a neighbour's dog dropped 'it' in front of my car as I was driving into town. Not sure if it was male or female, we called it 'Willow'. As the local (farm) vet seemed to know less about cats than me. I turned to a fri...

Bobby's Home!

Just brought our little man home. He was quiet all the way until we reached the gates. Then he sat up in his box and purred like a little engine. Tommy and Purdy haven't seen him yet. Willow sniffed him up and down and Gracie did her usual trick of being affronted by his presence (she's such a drama...

Re: Should a one eyed cat be kept indoors?

Just seen your post. It all depends on how safe your garden is. When she was 10 months old, one of our cats, Purdy, got into a fight with a very nasty stray. We heard the fight and a short while later she appeared in a terrible state. She lost the sight in on eye and had to have her jaw wired. When ...

Just heard from the Vets. Bobby is doing very well - a little wobbly - but making good progress. He may be able to come home tomorrow. He must be feeling better, he is eating everything they put in front of him!

Hello!

Hello Folks, I'm new to Cat Chat. Recently discovered my sweet boy Bobby is FIV+. It was quite a shock - with all his other problems - poor little man. I have 4 other cats - all strays who somehow found their way to us. They all have their stories, but Bobby is the reason I joined. It will be good t...
