Re: Help needed with mother and daughter cat!

Jelly is beautiful! I love her tortie disguise - I had to look at her picture for a while to find her right front leg! If leaving food down for them isn't 100% necessary, I would tend to feed them their wet food separately for a while with doors closed, because for some reason they seem to ha...

Re: Catching mice & birds

For the most part my cats, when they are "lucky" enough to catch something in their small courtyard, bring it inside to present to me and to play with. They kill occasionally but for the most part I can save the poor lizzies ....I mean lizards or whatever and release them, while at the sa...

Re: 2 cats and moving while rented harder than 1?

Thanks geckodiva and Sarie. Denzel is a proper little baby and is always cuddled up, but put motor sport on the tv and he's off like a shot with his nose against the tv swatting the cars. Oh isn't he a darling! Will his possible future companion be from the same parents, do you think? Not that Denz...

Re: is your cat as messy as mine? (food)

Jagger says "fanks" for the compliments! He's been wanting to join in DDDD for some time, but he is having trouble convincing me to help him. I am in the process of learning "cat speak", but at present, like in most things, I am absolutely hopeless. This is yet another thing I a...

Re: is your cat as messy as mine? (food)

I have just spent ages trying to download some pics of Jagger in his jackets, without success. I'm very annoyed as I'd love to show him off! Will keep trying to get organised but as you know I am hopeless. My computer seems to have saved photos in two different locations, the the location that the ...

Re: Thinking about getting a cat, need advice!

Lots of good ideas here. While in an ideal world we'd all be able to have our cats as indoor/outdoor pets, and I really do believe that having access to the outdoors is the best thing for them, sometimes circumstances dictate that they need to be indoors only, or restricted to your property by some...

Re: is your cat as messy as mine? (food)

Hi Sarah, thank you for asking about Jagger. The little lad had a very long sleep and was brighter in the morning and ate breakfast, but started throwing up again, three times in a very short period. Although brighter he wasn't his usual rambunctious self, so he was off to the vet. She felt that he ...

Re: is your cat as messy as mine? (food)

Considering I have nine cats the food mess is minimal. I'd be interested to know why Jagger insists on moving his chicken bones on to the rug to eat them, and they all prefer to puke on a rug or my bed rather than the wooden floor. It's not an everyday occurrence, but even so I feel awful that my i...

Re: Help! What to do with MIL's cat from hell?! :(

Poor Pita! I feel a bit mean saying this, but in this particular situation, seeing as Pita is going to be moved anyway, why not move her to a cattery or a friend's place for the remaining time? - then (hopefully) there will only be one unhappy cat and not three. It seems a bit unfair as it's Pita's...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL

I think I'd tend to let her settle into this new routine, then perhaps on nice days sitting out in the garden, talking to her and maybe trying to feed her treats. Have you ever tried to attract her attention with "Da Bird"? (Turkey feathers on a string attached to a long thin stick). I am...

He's a sweetie. You'll find he'll lose a bit of interest in his toy after a while - just pack it up and put it away for a few weeks until he's forgets it, then the fun starts all over again. All my cats thoroughly enjoy theirs each time I bring it out.

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL

When Summer initially started spending 85% of her time outdoors, I didn't put anything at all out for her, but of course there was water available from the fish pond. As time has passed she has proved exactly what a stubborn little so-and-so she can be,  by yowling for food, putt...

Re: Cheyenne going AWOL

I miss a lot of posts due to a lack of time, and I didn't realise that Cheyenne wasn't just living as a cat in hiding, but spends time outdoors, sometimes a lot of time. This is wonderful for her. As has been mentioned, as she returns to your home on a regular basis for food and shelter she must fe...

Huge congratulations on your new addition. This is a real worry for all concerned, and of course your little boy has to be your main consideration. The symptoms you mention are of course those for cat allergy, but also of other allergies, e.g. dust allergy. I'm not a parent and have only had to dea...

Re: Questions about a new family member

My, I was 16 a VERY long time ago - but I do have a recollection of finding half a sausage in the hallway after I'd finished eating. I don't think a bit of people food every now and again is a big deal - although perhaps not for one so young. My darling Ruby (now at the bridge) and I used to share ...

I would love to have been a fly on the wall for that little performance. Hello Julie, I'm so very sorry your mum is ill and wish her so much luck in getting through her treatment easily and successfully. Many cats are quite empathetic - I know for sure at least three of mine are (fortunately I've not yet had to "try out" any of the others). They may not know w...

Congratulations on becoming a cat mummy. Your new kitty is behaving absolutely normally, and very, very well. Remember, she's just a baby and has suddenly been taken away from her mum and siblings. I think she'll be very well adjusted as she's looking to you already as her protector, bringer of lov...

This video is all over Facebook. It's just amazing isn't it? Sorry if I should already know the answer to this - but is Edgar a former feral cat? (the missing top of his left ear?). He is lying in such a "vulnerable" position and obviously very fast asleep, and it's wonderful that he must feel so comfortable, safe and happy in your home. My bed is ...
