Squirty Cream

Does anyone give their cat squirty cream (from the can). My greedy cat had to get some of mine over Xmas and she loved it. Every other day I will give her a small amount as a treat - once she hears me shaking the can she cries with anticipation. Doubt its made with real milk so hopefully she will be...

Re: Cat spraying to get his own way

My 12 yo cat sprays around the house and she has taken to spraying against the leather sofa in the living room. I had her at the vet to ensure it was not medical and tried the Feliway diffuser. I can only assume it is territorial with her as she will sit on the upstairs window sill and if she sees a...

Re: Matted fur

My 12 y/o cat is the same - hates being groomed. I have tried 2 different types of brush and also a grooming glove but that does not remove much hair. The Vet has always mentioned about her hair matting but any time I try to groom her you would think I was stabbing her with pins. I try but after a f...

Re: Cat Drooling

Thanks for the responses - that is an interesting thought about the grass. Jet is fine now - I put cat malt on her paw for 2 days and she has been to the toilet and seems OK. She is eating as usual and going out so whatever it was seems to have past but she seems to be getting sick on a monthly basi...

Re: Cat Drooling

She had 4 teeth removed last year and the Vet checked her teeth also - she has a touch of gingivitis but nothing that required immediate attention. I have never seen her drool like that before and anything that seems unusual with her I would take her straight to the Vet for investigation.

Cat Drooling

I got up this morning and was not greeted as usual by my 12 year old cat, I went downstairs and found her on the sofa drooling from her mouth with her head lowered feeling sorry for herself. I cleaned her mouth but she seemed sore to be touched. I lifted her and put her on the bed were she just sat ...

Re: Fighting over territory

Yeah - my cat was neutered at 6 months - not sure about the other cat but my cat is always the aggressive one and gives chase or attacks first. There is one cat she will tolerate in the garden and they have even touched noses but if she sees this cat from inside the house she goes mad and has to get...

Re: Fighting over territory

My 12 year old female cat is very territorial - my next door neighbour recently brought her cat to the property from another residence and my cat has went crazy - I have had to block all access to the respective gardens and my cat has taken off sitting outside at the front door watching her territor...

Re: A diet for a sensitive stomach

Have you tried Encore cat food - its 100% natural. I give it to my cat now and then as she is a very picky eater and have a lot of different varieties at hand. Its available in Tesco - not sure about the other supermarkets.

Re: My 18 yr old has manky teeth that Im convinced need a dental

My 12 year old cat had 4 teeth removed - 3 were her fang teeth and she has been great since. I was worried about the anaesthetic but she was grand - she was a bit unsteady on her feet when I got her home but she ate a full pouch of food and I made sure she got plenty of rest before I let her into th...

Re: stressed cat spraying

I have the same problem with my cat Jet, she will be 12 next week. It started about 12 months ago when she started spraying on the kitchen worktop. This has since developed and she recently started spraying against the electric cupboard in the downstairs hall, on the floor in the dining room and a f...

Cat Malt

Anyone have experience of using Cat Malt with their puss. I got some this morning and had read online reviews from owners of how their cats loved this stuff etc.... I have tried it with my cat on my finger and mixed with food but she will not ingest it - one sniff was enough and she walked away. I w...

Re: Can i have a cat and work full time?

I have had a cat for 12 years - I work 6 days per week and Jet seems happy to be left at home. She does seem to do a lot of sleeping and usually goes back to bed at 20.00 in the evenings and has me awake at 06.00 looking fed. On days that I am off work she will either stick to her routine of sleepin...

Re: Cats kidneys not working properly and ataxia.

Sorry to hear the bad news Kris - you must be gutted but it was the right decision rather than have her suffer. It will be a tough few days for you but hoping the pain will ease with each day - its a decision many cat owners will have to make at some point in our cats well-being.

Re: Cats kidneys not working properly and ataxia.

Jet is getting home later today - rang and she was getting examined by the vet who confirmed I can collect her later today but she wants to have a word with me - I assume it may have to do with a new diet or medication - just worried about the bill but will be relieved to have her back with me.

Re: Cats kidneys not working properly and ataxia.

Not sure yet Kris what she has - the initial diagnosis is Triaditis which is an inflammation of her liver and pancreas. When she was examined on Wednesday the vet did remark her left kidney was enlarged but the blood and urine test came back negative and Jet was allowed home and she ate and drank as...

Re: Cats kidneys not working properly and ataxia.

Hi Kris - sorry to hear about the puss. I am in a similar situation with my cat. She had 4 teeth removed last September, 3 were her fang teeth and she has coped quite well. Jet is currently with the vet - she went for a check up on Wednesday which I thought were fur balls but the Vet thought her kid...

Thanks, will definitely miss her sleeping beside me in bed tonight. It will be years since she has not been with me and the house feels so empty and quiet but really hoping she will be home tomorrow.

Re: Cat Diagnosed with Triaditis

Thanks Grace. I went to visit her in the Vets - they are keeping her overnight for observation. She has certainly perked up a lot and is definitely brighter and in good form. She ate some food and did a pee which the carer said she had not done all day so hoping she was glad to see me as I was with ...

Cat Diagnosed with Triaditis

Jet is female and will be 12 years in a few weeks. The past few days she started vomiting (brown liquid) but no diarrhea and a few days ago she went off her food. I assumed it was hairballs and took her to the vet yesterday. Blood and urine tests came back negative but Jet had lost 1kg in weight sin...
