Hand rear kitten with diarhoea
This is a long shot as both myself and my vet are out of ideas but right now I have to try anything I can to save this little baby :( I have 2 hand rear kittens who are 3 weeks and 2 days, there was 3 in the litter but I lost one 3 days after they came to me, background: they came to my rescue aged ...

Re: My baby has FIP
I'm so sorry for you both, I lost my Charlie last year to it and thru my rescue have dealt with one case, sadly both were put to sleep within days of diagnosis, fip is a terrible disease but very hard to diagnose, by the time there is enough symptoms to diagnose, they do normally only have days left...

Re: Cheeky Cat Conundrum
Un neutered cats will always to roam and if you can contact his owners again they need to accept responsibility for him and neuter and chip him and then keep him indoors for a few weeks to teach him where home is again. I do rescue and had an unneutered male take up residence in my garden and coming...

Re: vet wants to extract teeth in young cat - and raw food Q
If finances aren't a major concern or Insured you can look into treatment with interferon for her gums, it's commonly used now as a treatment for calici virus mouth problems and often avoids the full extractions at such a young age.

Re: Paralysed kitten after accident....
Apparently the majority of x rays done in similar circumstances show nothing, and if back broken (which would prob mean pts) she wouldn't have the movement she has. So I'm happy to go with what the vet has said for now and she is slowly improving. Guess I'm just curious to know if they do fully reco...

Paralysed kitten after accident....
Anyone had a paralysed kitten before? Little 7 week old came to my rescue Monday morning as owner found her collapsed and couldn't afford to treat. She has some sort of spinal injury, she can toilet herself and has tail movement, but both her back legs don't work at the minute. Vet wants to give her...

Or you can ring and explain to the RSPCA, they will often give you and the vet a log number so they cover the treatment.

Hi Sarah, my fraggle was a calici carrier and had an awful mouth, over the years he had all bar the canines removed and my vet was very anti removing them and he had repeat pain and infections with them and eventually I insisted they remove them, he recovered well and was fine for about a year then ...

I may be wrong but cystitis is inflammation and needs either metacam or antibiotics to treat to reduce the iriitation but that wouldnt stop them weeing alltogether, and the operation your boy just had wouldnt be used to treat that as its specificaly for blockages so that the cat will then be able to...

But if he is blocking then there has to be either crystals or the sand type grit there, we had one with it in my rescue who was in the diet until all crystals dissolved and then a slightly diff one to stop them reforming. We were offered the surgery too but didn't do it as the diet sorted him, they ...

I have one on Elvis' collar, it doesn't bother him and isn't that big, however he lost one with collar it was attached too, and as we live in quite a built up area I haven't managed to find it, I possibly could if I got every neighbour and local business to allow me to take the search thing into the...

Their fur feels like that of an oriental cat but that's cos it's so short I guess, I have googled til I can hardly see but nothing anywhere near comes up. I have added a pic taken today, the stripy bulge next to the kitten is the body of the worst one.

Bald kittens.....
I had a litter of kittens come into my rescue 6 weeks ago with no mother, they were 2-3 days old and had to be hand reared, there were 3 blacks and one tabby although one black was shinier than the other 2, by 2 weeks old the fur on the duller 2 blacks was thinning ridiculously all over, 3 vets were...

Re: Cat with watery stool (3months and still going)
Yes I too agree to try a totally new protein as she more than likely is intolerant to the cat food and possibly chicken. Hills d/d is a good canned and dried one to try (I think that's venison) or of course the fresh meat option. But whatever you try just try one new thing at a time so you know what...

Generally eating cat litter and licking walls is a sign of anemia so at her age a swift vet visit may be in order. Hope she's ok.

I've seen a cat with it once before and your pic of hector reminded me of my friends cat that had this, might not be but as he insured anything is worth a go..... It can be blood test or swab apparently.

Re: Sore That Won't Heal - Out Of Ideas
I would imagine you would just need to speak to a vet up for trying the nasal flush, the vet that did it for buttons has long since retired but the vet I see now mentioned it when we were discussing a ferals treatment the other week, but we didn't do it as too feral to cope with the 3 day ordeal. Bu...

I had a cat who too was suspected of carrying calici although never tested, she lost all her teeth very young due to it and sneezed her entire life, all our walls were green and red spattered and she was on antibiotics every few weeks. In the end our vet suggested admitting her and putting her under...

Re: Sore That Won't Heal - Out Of Ideas
Have you tried just washing twice daily in diluted hibiscrub to dry it up? Just dab it on with cotton wool ball twice a day.
Also I know we probably mentioned this before but the 3 day antibiotic nasal flush cured my cats rhinitis 15 years ago..... Might help with the cause.
