Re: Big tins of Supermeat getting harder to find?

Yes I guessed it was that. Mine wouldn't touch it anyway and cats that come to scrounge overnight will eat from the big bowl of food I put out on the table at the end of the garden each night. I will try the dog food again. The last time I bought dog food, I was able to get 800g tins quite cheap.

Re: Big tins of Supermeat getting harder to find?

Thanks for that. My biggest issue with Whiskas supermeat is that the cans have been difficult to clean out for recycling, since they started adding cereals a few years back- it seems to cling to the edges of the can. Not the end of the world, I know :) - what I would like to do is stop feeding the s...

Big tins of Supermeat getting harder to find?

It seems very few places are selling it now. Our local Tesco extra has stopped selling the Whiskas one, as well as their own brand. PAH don't seem to have own brand on sale either. It isn't that the cats like it, but I want it the seagulls I feed (long story) They eat the jelly one, but just pick ou...

Re: Gift tin with 5 packs of Dreamies inside. £4 in Tesco

I always check cat food prices on Mysupermarket before I go shopping, as I know stores don't always put the signage up. In our Tesco (an Extra) the gift tins were on the end of the cat food aisle, miles away from the Dreamies display. Ihad t go searching through a loaded trolley to put the loose pac...

Re: Success!

I bought a 2kg bag of More from Pets Corner earlier this year. None of the cats would touch it, including cats that come in the garden to feed. I ended up putting it out for the birds. It is a higher meat content than Purina One sensitive, but very similar - ie, contains Maize and rice. I have tried...

Gift tin with 5 packs of Dreamies inside. £4 in Tesco

I'm sure they won't last until xmas, but hey :D

I was going to buy 2 packs for £2, so it was a no-brainer really. http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/ ... =294238344

Re: Dry food

I also feed a mix of wet and dry. I avoid things like Whiskas Dry/GoCat and supermarket own brand basic dry food as they are full of cereals, with very low meat content. I have also tried various foods with a very high meat content, but with little success - they seem to prefer the mid-range stuff. ...

Anoter good one is B&M stores. They sell main brands. Their standard prices are as good as - and usually better than supermarket deals. They don't sell the full ranges, but still a decent selction. Felix and Whiskas are 2 boxes for £5 As Good as it Looks (inc doubly delicious) are 3 boxes for £9...

We love bargains :)

Will try to get down there. I also got my vouchers yesterday. Just got back from Tesco, where Purina One is also £10 at the moment. Not sure when it ends, as it was £10 last week too - I had a £13 off £80 shop, so :D

Re: Oucha - Endoscopy cost?

I appreciate that vet treatment costs, but it seems a hell of a lot. If it was £500 or so, although a lot, I could appreciate that they are using expensive equipment etc, but £2000  A friend of Dennis recently adopted a rescue cat and has been quoted £450 for a dental - just a clean - no extr...

Thanks Brigid. I was amazed to see that Armitage haven't posted the recall on their own Facebook page - I have done it for them!!! - although guest posts appear very small, so barely visible. Also posted on Purrs forum. I never use 'Pet shop brands' like Armitage and Bob Martn, but I know plenty of ...

Re: Hot water bottle?

Re the heat reflective pads - you can get cheap ones in places like B&M, for about £8, but I found that some cats don't like them as they 'crinkle' - they do the job though. The original branded Flectabeds are the best though. They are nicely padded and seemingly indestructible. I bought ours ab...

Re: Spaying

Apart from keeping an eye due to them being a bit wobbly from the anaesthetic, most cats don't really need any special care. Ingrid was flying around the house by the same evening when she was spayed last year :D - she wouldn't touch the pouch of RC sensitive stomach the vet gave me, so I let her ha...

Re: Bonded pair adopted by my niece

I like it when rescues insist on bonded cats, related or otherwise, going together. I hate it when people want to take just one. I know that lots of people would have asked for the grey (not sure which is which yet). I remember about 6 years ago. It was just coming up to xmas and Sharon at CP had an...

The problem I'm having is that although I registered all 3, it doesn't seem to be picking up on Kasper coming in. He is the only one so far that just barged his way out through the door. I am wondering if his chip is too low down? (Ria, I know Sarah said you had that problem) Ingrid was out earlier ...

Kasper worked out how to open it from the inside. A couple of months on when we decided to give Ingrid free access, he had...

Re: Does anyone have a Sureflap pet door? (The large one)

Thanks Alan & Ruth, My reasoning behind Ingrid possibly taking to it - and I could be wrong, but I am assuming that once the latches retract, there is little or no resistance. Although very agile, I think she lacks strength. she is only 2.8kg. She probably could push the regular flap, but doesn'...

Does anyone have a Sureflap pet door? (The large one)

We have been thinking about getting one for ages and decided to bite the bullet, unless there is an issue with them. Due to Dom's size (7.4kg) it is pointless getting the standard one. Also, I think it will be easier to train Ingrid to use a microchip flap. I can't get her to use the regular door - ...

Yes - Kylie semi-tolerated AGAIL/Doubly delicious. She was allowed it. She only developed her gut problems in her last couple of years. Kylie used to love Gourmet Perle, especially the beef one, but it was another trigger food unfortunately. I think it (like most foods in gravy) contains wheat gluten. The only gravy food I was ever able to find that is totally wheat/gluten-free is supermarket own brand. You can tell they are made by...
