Re: Cat vitamins for cat not eating with lymphoma

Thank you so much I'll take a look at those. In case anyone elseis ever in this situation I'll share that I've found smaller 5ml syringes to be the best, less stressful and messy way to give slow controlled feeding. My girlie is snoozing on her heatpad now. Want her life to be as comfortable as poss...

Cat vitamins for cat not eating with lymphoma

Can anyone recommend a good vitamin supplement for cats? My girl turns out to have a lymphoma, I'm assisted feeding her as she has a poor appetite (Hills i/d). Struggling to get the recommended amount of food into her so thought I'd try something like a vitamin supplement paste. Hopefully the b vit ...

Better quality foods though, the cats need to eat a lot less, I found this when I was trying the raw food especially. Trouble is, after years of rubbish, you have to get them to eat the good stuff!

Re: Wet food, cereal free

Excellent advice and I have a 10% off code for Zooplus. It's a difficult situation with 9 cats, I want them to have the best, but I work full time (to pay their bills!) so I also need some degree of convenience. They stay in at night/in the cat run, so my life is an endless round of vet trips, litte...

Ah thanks Kay! I'm a convert to Fetch Deliveries now (having kitty litter delivered to your door in a 2 hour timeslot...wow!) and they didn't have it so I jumped to this assumption - doh!

Re: Wet food, cereal free

Hello, yes I've tried the raw food, a couple of them will eat it, but the others refuse point blank. Even the ones who used to eat it are turning their nose up at it, I think unfortunately they are too used to the rubbish food now, I have perservered but ended up throwing out the last 2 batches to t...

Sniper thank you for the advice, still have my little girl, thank goodness. The emergency vet wanted to bring her in for drip, force feeding, ultrasound etc but we declined and instead took home ID food, probiotic, and some appetite stimulant tabs. Oh and an anti nausea injection. And Zantac as she ...

Hello I was just revisiting this thread and wondered if anyone knew if the recommendations below are still good? My lot are simply refusing to eat Butchers since they have re packaged it so I'm assuming they have also changed the ingredients. The shelter down the road are having the same issue so so...

Thanks Kay, funnily enough I saw you had written that on another thread but when i mentioned it to my vet he said they don't recommend it where there are stomach issues. We've been to the emergency vet today, she's had anti nausea and appetite stimulant and going to try the id pate, I've been giving...

Infacol

Has anyone used infacol for cats, a Google search brought me back here where Hunny bunny said she'd used it. My 13 yo cat has bad vomiting and diarrhea. Tests, days on a drip, ranatadine haven't helped or found a cause. I'm syringing her AD food to try and stop her weight loss but she's now 2.78kg, ...

Antonio I am glad if my words bring comfort but sad that we had to share this experience. Please remember that our cats feed off our emotions and you must live your life with joy for your Lola. It's normal that the dynamics of the house will change as the occupants do. A few years back i lost my tor...

Antonio, I've not been on here for a long time, and I haven't read everything as its too painful for me, but I wanted to let you know that I lost my fur baby to the same horrible cruel illness last year, and how you described her passing was very familiar to me, with me holding her as the vet let he...

Re: Going away and leaving your cat.

I used to worry myself sick about leaving my cats, and never went away for ten years, but if you have a good catsitter, and especially with older cats, they will be fine. Mine sends me pics and even videos and sounds from my gang. I always know when I get home how well they have been cared for by ho...

Providing for your cats in your Will?

So I'm not young, nor yet old, but for some reason lately I've started to worry about what will happen to my 9 cats in the event of my death and I want to ensure they are provided for. I live alone, and have a very small family, neither of whom I trust to do the right thing by my little furry family...

Have you looked into getting supplements to boost her immune system? My cat has the calichi virus which causes a lot of similar issues and I've got a palatable l-lysine supplement for her called flumax - you can get a similar one online called Enisyl-f.

Hello Gothgrannie, ooh lucky you having foster Kitts. When I had this issue I made up kitten milk formula and started mixing kitten food with it. They'll start to lap up the food. Make sure mummy cat has an escape from the kittens eg a window ledge or if that isn't possible keep separating. I'm surp...

I wrote a reply earlier but don't see it on here now, sorry. You are in the right place for those who understand your loss. Hello Issi, I came over to this board after losing my beloved Lucy 2 days ago. 5 years ago I lost my beloved Tortie, Honey, and found CC. Well done for looking out for this man. Are you sure this cat doesn't belong to anyone? You say you have been looking after him for a long time - are you sure he isn't your cat now :D Does he come into your house or otherwise have shelter? If hes' getting thin/poorly, he won't survive another Winter...

Thank you for your kind words. Lucy was helped to pass over peacefully today by our very caring and gentle vet who came out to our home. He stroked her and said goodbye to this brave little cat he had the privilege of caring for. She was finding it increasingly hard to eat but was hungry, she was drooling with some blood and when...

Re: Moving from a house with garden to a flat

Ok so you haven't located anywhere yet. First hurdle of course will be finding somewhere to accept pets. Lots of cats live in flats but it takes more work to keep them safe and happy. I'd say he's better staying with you than trying to rehome him as you're willing to prioritise his needs. He's not s...

Drooling in cats can be an indicator of pain, well done for getting her to the vet so quickly. In my cats, this has tended to point to dental issues (and more.) What did he say about her teeth?

Meant to say, yes, you make a really good point about the smell whilst the fish is cooking - definitely best to cook slowly so the aroma goes throughout the house as this has been known to get her downstairs and to start circling me in the kitchen and she always has a better appetite then ((-:
