Re: Frogspawn!

A bit late to the party on this one but my parents used to get newts and tadpoles in their pond, and they used to keep 2 old wheelie bins (the kind you buy in stores, although I think the council ones would be cool too.) and when they thought the pond was getting low they'd fill up the bins from the...

Re: My Cat Bites me....

Hey Leannelove, To echo everyone else I'm sorry your little boy had such a horrible time growing up. I suppose taking such a beating would leave him feeling vunerable for most of his life. As for the biting, I can only speak from experience. Our current cat only bites when she's feeling too fussed o...

Re: Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors?

Hey Eliz,

Thankyou :) She's really settled in here. It's great! I was a little worried she miss her previous owner too much but she's got on with us really well :)

My phone is filled with cat pictures now, I look so sad :P

And as I type she decided next to it is her new spot now. :P

Re: Are laser pointers cruel?

They love Da Bird though but to be honest Mali is safer chasing the laser pointer. He often will just take off after Da Bird without much thought about where he is landing and 6.5kg of fluffy but solid cat can be quite daunting when its flying towards you about 3 ft off the ground! That's the main ...

Are laser pointers cruel?

Hey everyone, I wanted to ask everyone's opinion on laser pointers. My BF used to own cats that would not respond well to them and preferred physical objects in which to "hunt". Now we have a cat that seems more interested in chasing the object rather than keeping the catch. She's very ene...

Re: Helping a cat break their food routine

Thanks everyone! Perhaps I'm overracting to this :)

I didn't consider that dry food would go bad but perhaps that is the case. I'll have to into it.

Helping a cat break their food routine

Hi everyone, So I made a thread a few months ago about wanting to own a house cat, but wanting to make sure what I was doing was right. Please see http://www.catchat.org/felineforum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2126" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for details. Now I have one, as...

Re: Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors?

Hey everyone, it's been a while I know. I wanted to let you all know that we now have a cat. Her name is Sofi and she is a rescue. We rehomed her from a colleague that had to move back to the UK due to a family circumstance and found her new flat wouldn't allow pets. (Sorry for links, I couldn't get...

Re: Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors?

Many thanks everyone for the advice and the welcomes :) ! I do think that perhaps a slightly older cat or a cat with a disability would get the best lease of life with us. From Hazel: A really nice thing to do would be to contact rescues and ask if they have any special needs cats, eg deaf or blind ...

Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors?

Hello guys, I'm new, but please don't let that or the late hour discourage you. I have a question that I have found the crevasses of the interenet cannot fully solve this for me. Is it wrong to keep a cat indoors? I will explain: I do not have a cat but my boyfriend and I have been thinking of getti...
